Taxes Questions and Answers

Can I deduct online stock trade fees ?

Answers: They are added to the basis of the stock purchase price. The deduction is thus delayed till you sell the stock.
You can, but keep careful records. The brokerage may have included the commission in the purchase price of the shares. You do not want to take the commission twice. On the sale side, there is commission and the SEC fee. Again, this may have been figured in. You can't add the commission twice. That would shrink your gain or widen your loss. The IRS is sent a 1099-B by EVERY brokerage. If you do not receive one, the brokerage firm will normally have it ready online by January 31. The IRS can also easily find out how much you actually paid for the shares. And of course, vice versa if you are in to short selling.

Need assistance near taxes??

Ok so I know someone who is 1. upset about have to be told he may have to earnings taxes. So my question is for his W-2 the 12a shows a W $2757 and when we tried file this online it jacked uo what he owes to $1200 so is there anything we can do to not enjoy to pay so much taxes since thru the year he remunerated out alot as is.

He files single any tips ? Please.

Answers: W = employer contributions to a health stash account. He have to declare it and it will affect his income duty. Answering tax question on runeye.coms can be difficult since a person's tax situation can swing so much. Taxes are multi-faceted, they are.
As I posted on the other board (please do not post twice!), the W represents the pre-tax money used to pay for an HSA.

This should not be shifting his refund since it's already pre-tax. Your friend doesn't receive to deduct the money again...so the result of the 8889 should be not anything for part 1.

Did he spend any of the money? Did he spend it on otherwise unreimbursed medical expenses? If yes, after the net result should be a nil for part II of the form.

Refunds?

i recently needed sky installed on my property but was told i needed go-ahead for this off the lands owners, i did this and was refuse. now i enjoy the trouble of getting a refund on the installation deposit which they claim will not be salaried back to me.. i dont know if they hold to give me this spinal column or do they have the right to filch money for no work done at all? any back will be appriciated x

Answers: This depends on the terms of the contract. Sky is run by an international criminal gang call the Murdoch family and you can be clear in your mind that their contracts are drawn up to give them maximum benefit.

You could claim a discount because the contract terms are undue. Write to Sky saying that the contract is cancelled, that you require a full refund inside 14 days and that if you don't receive a satisfactory reply, you'll start County Court proceedings lacking further notice. If that doesn't receive you a refund, when the 14 days are up, hold out a summons online at https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/ind...

That should get a result, defending the claim would cost them more than paying you.
