I it true one can claiming Tax at Home Office?
I've been working within UK for over 5 years and now I hold decided to return home. I've be told that I can claim all the income charge I've paid, adjectives I have to do is dance to the Home Office and I will complete a form, my tax be refund within a few weeks. Is that true? Honest and serious reply please.Answers: No, you dont take all your duty back. However, if you are departing before 5 April 2008, you may be due a small repayment for this tax year. Go to www.hmrc.gov.uk and download form P85. Complete this and distribute it with the P45 you will return with when you leave your position and send it to your duty office (your employer will furnish you the address). A refund will be sent to you by cheque. Nothing to do near the Home Office though.
here, here dodgy!
I am currently remodeling my home. Can I use the cost of materials on my taxes?
Answers: Used to be, years ago, if you improved your house, you could add that cost to the "cost basis" so when you sold your house you wouldn't report as much profit. With the new laws though, you have a $250K exemption ($500K for married couple) and most people don't make that big of a gain when they sell their house. If your house did appreciate in value to where you would make more than $250,000 in profit, then you could use the cost of those improvements to add to your original purchase price.
only if you are renting the house
i tried that last year when i remodeled my house and it did not work.
Kisses
No.
But the cost of materials (probably) will add to the "cost" of the house when you sell it, thereby reducing the taxable profit.
Can i get a tax return if i only worked two months in 2007?
Answers: Yes, you'll probably get a refund for the federal and state amounts that you paid in.
Yes.
If your income is adequate, you have to file a tax return, even if you worked only one day.
If you worked as an employee in 2007, you should receive your W-2 within a few days.
I don't know what else you're asking.
yes
