Is police report taxable?
i wanted to know if a police report is taxable? i go to a tax broker and she said no, but i infer its possible because i was robbed within my apartment.Answers: Your question is really whether or not you can help yourself to a casualty loss for the robbery.
Usually the answer is yes, but it doesn't make a difference on your taxes because any you don't itemize and/or the loss was smaller quantity than 10% of your AGI.
See IRS publication 547 and form 4684 for additional details.
No, lone legal cost to protect income producing property is deductible.
But you may own a casualty loss if your insurance didn't cover all of your losses and you can itemize on your rates return on Schedule A
I recieved 2 different w-2 from my employer, how do I know which one to use?
They have 2 different employer numbers as economically. How do I know which is the correct one? Will I need to obtain a corrected one? Do they still have a deadline to correct and get hold of back to me?Answers: You are probably going to stipulation to file both of them. That happen to us one year...the company my husband worked for sent us 2 different W2's because they moved their corporate headquarters in the middle of the year and somehow that translated into us getting 2 different W2's next to the total of both being the total income he get paid for the year.
When you donate up both amounts in box 1 of respectively W2, does it come to the same amount as planned on your final paystub for gross wages? If so then you will obligation to use both of them on your tax return.
Are the numbers alike? If so, then one of them should be labeled as "W2c" or enjoy the "corrected" box marked.
If not, afterwards I'm guessing your employer has two divisions and remunerated you from both... you may have to claim both w2s.
