Okay, is there an income baseline for this new tax rebate, that we might be recieving between july and august?
Answers: As it is proposed right now if you did not pay any income taxes, but made at least 3,000 as income earned then you get $300 not the full $600 or $1200 for couples. Same rules apply for children I believe which are $300 per child.
The current House proposal has an income baseline of $3000 to be eligible. Since nothing has passed yet, there's no telling how it will end up.
Peace of Mind or Bull*&^(a)#!?
I filed taxes w/H&R Block and I get the "Peace of Mind" to protect me in travel case of audit, and the year of 2004-05, due to an agent's error on my taxes I was overpaid, and I go to correct it before the following year taxes 2005-06 w/H&R block and be told that it would be taken care of and received notification that it be, but now beforehand I can file my 2006-07,IRS is deduct from my paycheck and I was told by H&R Block that I would enjoy to pay IRS first, and they(H&R) would reimburse me. Now is that backwards? What can I do?! I enjoy no "Peace of Mind", not if they are garnishing my check $100 every pay, its putting me down with seriously of bills. I was told not to record by an agent, but I would rather them cart my income tax instead of my paycheck. I involve help!!Answers: The "Peace of Mind" is BS my friend salaried off her debt to the IRS and HR block didn't reimburse her until almost a year subsequent and than they took out processing fees. I would also like to caution you, If anyone is considering getting the HR block visa card "Don't" the fees are ridiculous and if you go to the sandbank to get adjectives your cash advanced stale the card you will be advised to depart from $15 on the card to cover the fee for a lolly advance plus doesn`t matter what fee the wall charges for a cash mortgage.
contact the district office where on earth you got your taxes done for those years.. (usually uncap all year) ask to speak to the district mgr and see if she can bring back you your answers..
US Tax Question.?
I had a total loss house fire this due year. How, if any, will my insurance settlement affect my taxes?Answers: I'm sorry for your loss.
You'll claim the casualty loss (assuming this was your personal residence, as defiant a business ppty) in the year contained by which you suffered the loss, on Form 4684. (Business losses may also be deducted, but the rules differ.) You'll see that insurance reimbursement (your total settlement figure) go on line 3 of the form.
Basically, the insurance contribution or other reimbursement reduces the amount of your loss.
You'll also see the Form 4684 have several columns labeled A, B, C, D. You'll use one column for the house itself, and a second for the lost furniture, a third if you lost a vehicle in the fire...and so forth. The insurance company should know how to give you an itemized stmt if they haven't already.
In the unlikely event the insurance pocket money is so generous that you certify a gain (after completing the Form 4684), you may defer or delay any import tax due by replacing the property within a term of 2 years.
Good luck.
It depends on the amount of the loss vs the amount of the settlement and what you did with the insurance proceeds. You may enjoy a deuctible casualty loss which you'd report on Form 4684. You should probably get a copy of Pub 547 from the IRS. their publications are roughly easy to recognize and helpful.
