Amending taxes?

Okay. I really screwed up. I forgot to add guard interest on my taxes so I filed a 1040x and amended. I have to pay the IRS $5.00 rear. Now, the bank have sent me an additional form wise saying I received double the bank interest I reported. I get the first number I put on the 1040x off the bank online banking page, which states year to date interest. Now, what do I do? Another 1040x?

Answers: You can keep hold of doing the 1040X until you get it correct. You may need to wait a couple of weeks to craft sure that you don't get some other form.
do another 1040x. btw, even if you didn't, they would automatically of late deduct the spare tax from your return or bill you for it if you pay. however, best to achieve the return correct. like others enjoy said, wait a couple of weeks so everything is set correctly
