Interest component of my loan is 3 Lakhs for this year. can we both claim 1.5 lakhs respectively or solitary Rs.75K respectively.?
I've home loan taken from ICICI for a Joint property in myself and my wife's moniker. The EMI is through ECS from our Joint account which also happen to be mySalary Account. My wife also puts money to this account from her individual sketch. Total Interest component of the EMI for this year is Rs. 220000.
I know we both can claim Tax exemption from Interest and Principle part of EMI. But this can be view differently.
How much amount can we both claim? For simplicity can it be Rs.110000 per head. or is it max 75K per head(Making it total Rs. 1.5 Lakhs).
For example, voice, Interest component is 3 Lakhs for a financial year, can we both claim 1.5 lakhs each for that year?
Or is it solely 75K each
Answers: Yes But if the House be registered on both persons baptize then U can claim the Interest the Interest component will be Rs.1,10,000 for respectively. U alone can also claim. There is no need for proportination if Both be registered as the owner of the house then both can claim upto Rs.1,50,000
In this casing my view is that you hold to see in whose nickname the loan is standing. He or she will entitled to claim the entire 150000 as it is only the individual in whose autograph there is loan is merely repaying.
But if the loan is joint name, my view is that ,as the house property is also split within ownership and loan is also split in two name, both will be entitled to claim 150000 each.
But please confirm again.
If both of you are the common owners of the house and the house is registered in both the name with 50:50 share, afterwards both of you can claim the loan interest 1.5 lakhs each and also can claim the principle repayment amount u/s 80C within the same proportion.
If the house is contained by one name singular, say surrounded by the name of the husband, next the husband only can claim the benefits. The loan may be contained by joint name and both of you may be paying the loan amount with your own proceeds. Still the husband only can claim the benefits.
Other example within case of integrated holders say 3 those:(with equal share)
Rs.5,00,000 Interest on housing loan for 07-08
Rs.4,00,000 principle repayment
All the 3 can claim 1.5 lakhs each (50 thousands waste)
All the 3 can claim principle repayment 1 lakh respectively u/s 80C (and again 1 lakh waste)

Does the due rebate apply to unearned income resembling laying-off?
Last year I was seeking work for most of the year and got over 9,000 contained by unemployment. It be taxed but I couldn't use it when i get a job at the ending of the year and wanted to setup an an IRA contribution.I know they might extend laying-off but I want to know if unearned income will be included in "qualify income" that I keep seeing surrounded by the legislation and news. Unemployment is considered unearned.
Answers: Seems a short time ago about everyone, regardless of have paid anything into the system contained by years, MAY be in on that REBATE. I suspect soon we will also stop calling it a REBATE since a rebate would miserable you paid taxes to inaugurate with.
By the mode NO ONE knows what will or will not be passed on the other hand as they want to tinker with it some more.
It appears that people who paid taxes will take a rebate. You paid taxes on your job loss income.
There hasn't been any statement that people receiving severance only will not procure a rebate. So, wait and see.
