If I took out 700.00 dollars from my 401k, will that affect my excise return?

I withdrew 700.00 from my 401k and didn't pay packet any federal taxes on it. I made 28,000k, I have 0 dependents, and federal withholding is 3,545.08. What would be my return? And would the cancel for my 401k make my return more or smaller quantity? Thanks

Answers: You'll pay excise on your 401K withdrawal, plus a 10% cost on the withdrawn amount assuming you are under age 59-1/2. So your discount would be smaller by a little below $200.

Your tax on the $28,700 is $2605 plus the $70 cost, or $2675. Your refund would be $870.

A word of direction - don't use your 401K as a savings vindication for current expenses - it's very costly, since you pay packet a penalty for untimely withdrawals.
The money you withdraw must be reported as income unless it was a loan.
You should receive a statement from the company that handle your 401(k).
it counts as income. Probably wouldn't effect you much

Is everyone really getting an automatic $600 for their duty return??

the ranges are from $300 to $600 for singles and from $600 to $1,200 for married couples file jointly.

Anyone eligible for a settlement would receive an additional $300 for respectively child 17 or younger who lived with them for more than partly of 2007.

For example, a married couple with two children could receive up to $1,800. There is no restriction on the number of children who could earn their parents a refund.

Check the resource at the bottom for more information
No. Just a rumor as of immediately.

If there is a "rebate" it will come this summer separate from your 2007 return.
More than a rumor, but way smaller quantity than a done deal.

Congress is debating the rules for a toll rebate. It isn't likely to close up going to EVERYBODY - all of the proposals so far are to donate a rebate to working people, at lowest possible making a certain amount for the year.

Until Congress pass it and the President signs it, nobody will know who gets what, if anything.
