Answers: Do you give your client an invoice. I'm assuming you're man paid as a self employed individual which would explain the scarcity of deductions.
You will own to report the income and pay taxes. The flip side you'll know how to write off business expenses resembling mileage, business meals, claim wealth allowance on tools, etc.
Under sections 238(1) and 239(1) of the Canadian Income Tax Act, not file a return, filing more than one year slow if tax is due, or failing to stress taxable income from any source, is a criminal offense punishable by jail time and huge financial penalty.
If you are convicted of criminal tax evasion, penalty can be as much as 250% of the tax owing, plus day after day interest. A jail residence of up to two years is also possible. And you will have a criminal history for the rest of your life
That money is fully taxable.
So, it's your choice. Pay taxes properly and reasonably, and sleep well knowing you did the right item and the smart thing.
Or hope the company is never audited (happens adjectives the time) Because when that happens, CRA finds out who you are, what you be paid. At that point, if you are VERY lucky, you find fined the taxes owing (plus still owing the original taxes, so it's doubled). Oh, plus interest from the moment you received the payments. That much is a guarantee.
If you're not so lucky, the fine could be much high, and you could be facing jail time.
As I said, your choice
I bought a 2007 jeep rubicon last year, can i deduct the taxes and licenses on this on taxes?
Answers: The tax deduction depends on what state you live in. In Texas, although Texas doesn't even have a state sales tax, we are not allowed to deduct property tax we pay the state on automobiles.
If you itemize your taxes and you don't pay a state income tax, then you are allowed a deduction for "general sales tax + the amount of large purchase tax such as a boat or car."
If you don't otherwise itemize your taxes on Schedule A, then you don't get any credit for any kind of tax.
The registration fee (license) is never deductible.
Assuming this is a personal vehicle, the license cannot be deducted. There is an exception if the license fee is based on the value of the vehicle.
If your state charges personal property tax on the vehicle, that is deductible. Sales tax is also deductible, but if you deduct sales tax you cannot deduct state income tax.
