Whatis OASDI?
I work for the federal. Is OASDI as same as social security? is 6.2% middle-of-the-road for me? for making 12:55ph? I previous pay 4 years of social surety before.Answers: OASDI is "Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance". It's duplicate as Social Security.
Your wages are subject to OASDI, which is part of Social Security, and yes, the percentage is 6.2%. The other cut of Social Security is Medicare, and it is withheld at 1.45%. Some employers lump it into one category on the paystub, but it is broken into Social Security Wages and Medicare Wages on the W2. The W2 is what really matter.

The Tax relief refund checks that are going to be issued said you have to earn < $75,000, is that for 2007?
Answers: The proposed tax rebate depends on the amount of your 2007 taxes.
Under the terms of the tentative agreement between the White House and Congressional Democrats, individual taxpayers would get up to $600 in rebates, working couples $1,200 and those with children an additional $300 per child under the agreement. Families who make at least $3,000 but don't pay taxes would get $300 rebates.
