Taxes Questions and Answers

When determining the tax rebate are they using your gross income or your adjusted income?

Answers: 1. If your EARNED INCOME is $3000, then you qualify for a $300 rebate.

2. For single taxpayers, you would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350. Similarly, couples filing jointly would be eligible for a rebate up to $1200.

3. The phaseout is based on AGI. $75,000 (single), and $150,000 (married filing jointly).
Adjusted Gross Income. (they are referring to it as AGI). Research on Yahoo: "tax rebates". It will tell you how they will go about determining who gets what and when.

Whats up next to the Child rates credit?

We are working on our taxes via Turbo tax and we found out that you cannot claim Child tariff credit on children over 17?! That is the most ridiculous thing that Ive hear. This is the age that we need it the most

Answers: If they're over 17, they're an fully developed, not a child, hence...
tax credits are payable whilst the child is surrounded by full time education up to roughly age 19 i believe, depending what level of schooling they are in, i still gain them for my daughter who is 19 and studying at college.
