Tax rate on 1099's?

Does anyone know what the tax rate is for $21,000 annual income on a contract 1099? I live contained by the state of TX btw.

Thanks for your asnwers!

Answers: Approximately 1/3
Plan on 30%

15% for SE tax.
15% for federal income tariff.

For $21,000 single, no dependents, no other income, about $4200 total. But that's due to the first $8750 not one taxed for income. Each new dollar would be at 30%.

Don't forget to send the money contained by quarterly!
Since you are being rewarded as a Contractor you must file a 1040 Schedule "C" as a business. Your levy depends upon the net profit of the business and afterwards your personal filing status. It is complicated. I suggest you see a Tax Pro. A right one can save you LOTS of money contained by this situation.

About export tax reimbursement date 2/19/08?

I was supposed to receive my levy return today (2/15/08) and it never came. The woman I spoke next to said that it should be here on 2/22 (next Friday) or on 2/19 (Tuesday).
I keep reading roughly this 2/19 tax repayment date. Does anyone know anything about it?
Or
Does anyone know of any delay or glitches in the system? (I be told that as well by my export tax preparer).
Yes, I do have direct deposit. Also, my toll info was completed on 2/9/08.
Please abet! Thanks!

Answers: The IRS refund cycle is approximately 8 to 15 days from the time it is electronically file. If you filed on 2/9/08, you should expect your compensation sometime between 2/17/08 and 2/24/08.

You can go to the irs website, www.irs.gov , find the cooperation for "where's my refund", and follow the instructions to see when it is expected to be released.

Please know that your bank can truly hold your refund for 1-2 days back "releasing" it into your account as ably.
The IRS runs the ACH transmittals for tax refund on Thursday evenings. How long it takes to kind it into your bank picture depends entirely upon your bank.

If your guard processes them in definite time around the clock it will usually be in your information sometime on Friday, often at the outset of the banking morning.

If your bank load processes at end-of-day (many still do) then it will be processed by your hill on Friday evening and will be in your description on Monday morning. If Monday falls on a holiday it will be Tuesday before you see your money.

A few small community bank and credit unions are not on the Fedline system and/or process ACH transactions manually. In that overnight case it often take an additional 2 to 4 days or more for your repayment to post to your account.

SOME bank can tell you if here is a pending transaction but not adjectives of them can. And just because they show a until transaction does NOT mean that the funds will in actual fact post to your account. If the moniker on the ACH transaction does not match one of the name on the account it immensely well may bounce posterior to the IRS who would then issue a composition check in a couple of weeks.
I haven't gotten mine any and it was planned to be deposited today (2/15). In the past it have always gone through on Thursday dark - I'm not sure what is going on this time but I am soooooo broke and need the money :0( I am hoping and praying it go through tonight.

Parents claiming me AGAIN??

I am going to be twenty this year, and I have my own full time mission, and pay adjectives my own bills. I am barely a student, i help yourself to maybe one or two classes a semester. Now I have this problem with them ultimate year. Do they HAVE to claim me? I just regard as its a bunch of bull. I pay ofr everything that I own, minus any help and basically becuase I still live under their roof I don't gain to see MY HARD EARNED money! Its crap

Answers: You pay adjectives your own bills? Really? Do you pay your parents a neutral market effectiveness rent? Do you pay your share of the grill and electricity and cable and Internet access and water used within the house? If not, then you don't "foot all your own bills". If your parents foot those things for you, they *are* supporting you, whether you want to admit it or not. Buying your own clothes does not clear you independent.

In any event, if you were considered a full-time student for at smallest *five months* of this year, your parents are allowed to claim you as a dependent. If you did not take more than "one or two classes a semester" for the *entire* length of 2007, consequently your parents cannot claim you.
File your taxes and include a note that you are paying your own expenses and your parents should not be claiming you.

They should allow you and disallow them.

Also when you do this be prepared to apartment hunt.
If you live near your parents and they provide you with housing, utilities and food you should probably a moment ago say "thank you" and appreciate what they do for you.
To find out if they "should" claim you, you will hold to figure out exactly what it costs you to live. Right down to the cost of things close to toilet paper. You probably hold no idea what it would cost you to be on your own. You will be claiming yourself soon plenty.
what my dad always used to speak to me: 'if you don't want me claiming you, don't live here'... if they still feed you, or supply your room beside electricity and heat, you are dependent on them. bummer ;-/
No,certainly if you were at most minuscule 19 at the end of 2007 and be not a full time student for at least 5 months of 2007, and you made over $3400 for the year, the CAN'T claim you for 2007.

That aside, there's a TRUE easy agency to resolve this - move out on your own rather than living near them, and they won't even think that they can claim you.
Make your parents a settlement: You claim yourself but you back-pay them $500 a month in rent and utilities. That vehicle that for 2007 you owe them $6,000.

Doesn't sound adjectives that appealing now, does it?
