Is it criminal to "create" your own t4 slip?
I have not received a T4 slip from one of my employer, and I'm in dying stipulation of getting my taxes done with H & R Block. They say-so your last rate stub isn't sufficient enough, so I be considering just printing past its sell-by date a blank T4 template and just padding in the information as it is on my others, using my recompense stub. Is this illegal...and will it work?Answers: your employer is not lawfully obligated to issue your T4 until Feb 28th.
I'd like to record my income tax presently too, but I have to hang around on two forms despite "knowing" what the numbers on them should be. Otherwise there's the whole mess of file an amended return should one be incorrect.
Can you ask your employer if you can get your T4 as soon as possible, find out first when they will be issued.
If you are going through H & R Block I would call for them and ask them directly if it is legal to teem out your own T4 slip, get that info from the horses mouth. Usually the employer is supposed to do this as they hold all your money records on wallet, if you go ahead and do the T4 yourself, your totals might not tally up next to your companys records after there will be some auditing that may entail to be done via Revenue Canada.
Um, yeah, very illicit, and pointless anyway. T4s have several copies. Without the company's copy, your return will grasp bounced and audited.
Bad idea.
Wow is that ever against the decree! Each T4 has its own number and the numbers issued to employer is on file, other. If an employer makes a mess of a T4, they still own to file their copy obvious VOID.
It's not worth the risk..H&R block won't accept a facsimile of a definite T4 I'm sure. Don't risk the fine/imprisonment that Rev Can would dump on you!
Yah it is illegal..T4 have a copy to you, revenue canada & within your employer
I wouldn't trust H&R Block any...too many populace I know who went to them (me included) totally screwed them (& myself as well) over by doing the file wrong. A few years later Revenue Canada comes posterior to you. You go pay for to H&R Block & they make up the excuse that this party doesn't work here anymore (or some other lame excuse)& ends up becoming a big headache.
Best approach to profile collective due?
I'm married and living together with my wife. She worked full time end year and I was a full time student but did not worked. My question is can she claim me as an independent? Or do I still file a separate return basically based on my student reimbursement. I wanted to know if she can database me as an independent and at the same time I will know how to file my 1040 student export tax. What is the best approach on this.Answers: you can file collectively, or each can wallet as married filing alone. collectively the joint get you lower tax, but depends on respectively person's income etc
You would file "Married file jointly." You are a spouse, not a dependent.
Federal Tax Return Lein?
Two years ago my husband got his federal levy return with held. H R Block said here was a lien. He have an old military debt and we figure that is what it be for. We never received any info on where it go. Last year he didnt file. This year I call the IRS to see if he still owed and they said that they dont have any info on any lien. When we call H R to see where the money go in the first place they are recitation us they dont know.Answers: Go back to H&R Block (you may longing to call ahead and net an appt) and ask to speak with the department manager or franchise owner. They should know how to pull your folder before you arrive as the 3 year paperwork retention period have not run. Typically the franchise will get a code posterior when a customer's refund is intercepted or frustrate.
The code does not give the firm a large amount of detail but should advise whether the debt be to the bank or to the IRS (feds). If they confirm it be to the IRS, recommend you call them at 1-8OO-829-1954 and ask why your return was intercepted.
If you catch no clear answer, try the IRS's Taxpayer Advocate (a) 877-777-4778. Ask the person who help you to complete a Form 911 to record your request for assistance. The process take some time but is normally important in getting an answer to your question. IRS Pub 1546 gives a fact list (by state, city) of local IRS Taxpayer Advocates if you live near one and would prefer a face-to-face call on.
Good luck!
