Taxes Questions and Answers

Important Tax Question...?

Are you supposed to claim your previous years tax return on your current tax return??

For example, If I recieved a repayment in 2006 (for 2005 wages), do I claim that reimbursement on my 2007 taxes??

Answers: Normally not, but there is one exception.

If you itemized your deduction on your Federal return in 2006 and took a presumption for State income taxes paid, ONLY THEN do you claim your STATE settlement as taxable income on your FEDERAL return in 2007.

If you didn't itemize and clutch a state income tax presumption in 2006 afterwards none of your refunds are taxable on any export tax return.
You must claim the previous years state tax reimbursement on this years federal income tax return. You should receive form 1099-G for any state income rates refund amounts that you own to claim as income for this year's return.

How to i transform my w-4 to breed it rates exempt?

Is there a number for that?

Answers: To claim EXEMPT you must get together all of the following test:

1. You had $0 income import tax liability for 2007 and if you filed a levy return it was ONLY to receive a settlement of ALL taxes withheld. (If you caught any refundable credits you may NOT claim EXEMPT unless all of your taxes withheld would still hold been refund had you not claimed the refundable credits.)

2. You conceivably expect to have $0 income due liability for 2008.

3. If you can be claimed as a dependent you may NOT claim EXEMPT if you had more than $850 surrounded by unearned income or had $300 or more surrounded by unearned income and $5,050 or more in earn income.

If you qualify you may file a hot W-4 with your employer and speck the EXEMPT box.

Keep in mind that if you twist up with any export tax liability for 2008 the IRS may look closely at your claim. If it is obvious that you be not entitled to claim EXEMPT you can be hit next to a $500 penalty for file a fraudulent W-4. Additionally the IRS probably will issue a "Lock Letter" to your employer directing them to withhold taxes at the Single 0 or Single 1 rate, regardless of what you're legally entitled to claim.
My first thought be, why do you want to make it (as you say) "import tax exempt"? Are you someones dependent?

If you work, you're going to have to retribution SOMETHING in taxes. However, if you owed NO taxes finishing year (and I'd go final at least 2 years) you can database that you (in the past) owed no taxes and can say so on your W-4. Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid will still be withheld (a total of 7.65%, if they haven't raise it lately).

But be very sensible about doing that, because if you owe taxes on the income you earn, you WILL have to earnings them. And it's a lot easier to enjoy a little bit taken out every repay period than have to come up with a big "lump sum" of money when you're taxes are due.

Can I file a 1099 tax form online?

Answers: If you file your 2007 Federal Income Taxes online, a Form 1099 will be one of the forms from which you will enter data, along with other forms, such as your W-2.
Hey Titanfan,

Hmm…….great question. Wasn’t too sure of the answer myself when I saw it. But looking around I found a site on filing taxes online that has what you need in detail: http://tubeurl.com/file-taxes-online and some other info on it. Hope this question helps, as I know you asking it helped me. If it doesn’t send me a message and I’ll try to help you out with it some more.

Best Regards,

Dave M.
