Answers: Not enough information.
Most imagined you're getting EIC for two kids, at the max rate of $4700, plus what you paid within and child tax credit ($2000).
Refunds for population with low or moderate incomes who own kids can be more than you paid surrounded by by thousands of dollars depending on your income, due to something called the Earned Income Credit. So it might be OK.

Can someone please explain why I be rejected by the IRS?

My ex informed me they are being audited by the irs and have to show proof that our child lived with them. Our child didn't live next to them. Our child lived with me. My ex have been file our child for the past 7 years, because I be disabled. But the child had be living with me for adjectives of them 7 years. My ex had be filing the child short my knowledge until presently. Now, that I'm working again, When I tried to efile my tax return, it be rejected by the irs because the name of my dependant and the dependant's ssn didn't meeting. What would cause this? Is it because my ex is one audited, or is it because my ex had already file their taxes and claimed our child? Our child ssn is correct, so I'm trying to figure out what could own caused it to be rejected. I asked my ex did they record their taxes, and they told me no, but I find that hard to believe. Any assist would be so appreciated.

Answers: You need to stir to social security and gross sure you are using the correct number for your dependent. I would also call up IRS and permit them know that you just found out your x have been claiming your child as a dependent when within fact he have been living near you. The IRS will want proof that the child lived with you such as conservatory records, doctor collection with your address on them.

If the IRS said it be rejected because of the ss then I don't se how that would enjoy anything to do with your ex claiming him because the IRS have the ss number that the social security supervision has on wallet.
well when i be about 13, they finally notice that my name be spelled wrong on my social security card, look at that, and as far as your ex claiming your child, he can not do it justifiably without your signing a unique form, now if you articulate you gave him consent to claim the child those years it will probably be ok, but if he tried to for this year and you did as well next you definately have the right unless the court give him or you gave him authority... that is how the IRS will see it...
if he already claimed your child and you did, it probably would obstruction your refund but you would be the one to grasp itin the end because you enjoy the right to claim the child not him
When you get the missive from the IRS, or go to www.irs.gov., the front page shows: "Where's My Refund", follow that relationship, until they tell you it be rejected, and they should display a phone number or another link, to carry further information.

If it was rejected because the dependent be already claimed, there should be a code given, which explains the apology.

The number to the IRS is 8OO-829-1040

Good Luck
Are you sure about the error code?
Check the SS card and construct sure the name of your child, outstandingly the last christen and SSN match on your return and card. A one reminder mistake like dependant for dependant can build a rejection.
Frequently a return is rejected because that dependent has already be claimed.
A child does not have to live near a parent to be claimed if the parents are divorced or separated, so he could legitimately take him as a dependent as long as his parents (you & he) provide for the child's support.

How much do you have to make before filing on taxes?

Answers: It depends on your status. If you are single and claim yourself, then you MUST file if your income was at least $8750. You SHOULD file if your income was lower than that and any Federal Income Tax was withheld so that you may receive a full refund.
if you made any money you should probably claim it, if you made very little and paid any taxes you would get a refund so it would be worth claiming it
