They are still working on a bill in Congress that will provide almost everyone a tax rebate.

One of the adjectives exceptions to the rule on tax rebate is that you cannot be claimed as a dependent on your parent's income tax return. If you are, consequently you won't get the tariff rebate. Congress is probably going to use the 2006 tax returns to determine your status on whether or not to convey you a rebate.
are u talking roughly speaking TAX REBATE?

to be honest there's no answer yet for your request for information cz their been shifting the stimulus plan every other days.

before it be $800 (single filer) and $1600 for married ppl ; then it when down to $300 for single - $600 for married ; after it when up to $600 (single) and $1200 (married) plus $300/child....lately it when down again for only $500 (single) and $1000 (married)..also it depend for how much u product in 2007.u own atleast $3000 taxable income for that year.

so let of late keep are mitt CROSS that hopefully they will sign this LAW..cz if not they of late let everyone swing in the upper air.lol

We are told our W2s are incorrect?

Our business manager is human being told that 401K can not be deducted pre-tax and IS subject to FICA and Medicare taxes respectively pay length. I thought that was the total reason for have a 401k is to save some pre-tax money. What is the correct answer? Can it be deduct from pre-tax dollars?

Answers: 401K deductions are not subject to federal taxes unless its a ROTH 401K, which are after due deductions. They are subject to Social Security Taxes and Medicare Taxes.
FICA and Medicare taxes are assessed on your gross income (before the 401k contribution). Income taxes are assessed on the network income (gross less 401k contribution).

18 year old-fashioned living by myself for more than 6 months and giogn to college.?

was taking my concluding paychecks from my jobs and goign to the online calculator at H&R block.com and I am only just wondering If i can claim a dependent on myself. When i did do it it was motto I should get posterior aroudn 4,000 dollars but the max i had taken out on my taxes be only 1,300. I made a total of 13,000 this historic year and had $1,300 taken out on federal toll. I am a single 18 year old college student who lived by himself and not a soul else can claim me on their taxes so can anyone tell me how i would do that and how much i can expect to receive back because when i did it file 0 depends it said i should only acquire back 800 and some dollars so I dont know. Thank you. Also another piece is today i just get a thing from my college wise saying how much money i paid for which be $2766 and all that money be grants that i have gotten and scholarships. Do i attach this to my total tax amount and do i go and get the higher nurture tax and how does that work. Sorry going on for all the confusion and thank you :)

Answers: 1st u record single standard and u should reduce your in step gross income down an extra 3000$ or what it says on 1040.
the on the same wavelength gross is what u pay taxes on.
u never acquire bak more than u put in on wages taxes.
u can draw from other returns if u quality.

college money u compensated is not income even if from grants scholarship.

spend 20 -30 $ get income tariff book at bookstore to learn.
also 'total money net over' d.ramsey to save u thousand$ of firm lesons.
Based on your income you should be able to directory your taxes on-line for free. If no one else can claim you as a dependent you can and should claim yourself as the personal exemption is worth $3400 stale your gross income...
