Taxes Questions and Answers

I want to know who to contact to turn someone surrounded by for fraudulently claiming EIC.?

My step-son has lived next to my husband and I for several years only visit his mother everyother weekend. She has other claimed EIC for him and we became aware of it only last year when her export tax preparer misunderstood and claimed him as her dependent. Since we too were claiming him as a dependent this cause a problem. To make matter worse for a year and half in a minute we have resided surrounded by another state with the child and he have only resided near his mother for 2 weeks out to the year. We are tired of having our excise returns delayed and having to go underwater throught hoops because she fraudulently trying to claim EIC for him. We want to put this to a stop and are not sure how to do that. Last year when she claimed him as a dependent her tax preparer took the blame and repaid her compensation. I filed a form ending year and mailed the court agreement for custody surrounded by with our rates return but don't know what if anything was done. Now this year we dally to see what will happen...if she will try again.

Answers: File your taxes and dispatch a copy of the court agreement of custody with it. When/if she tries it again, the IRS will manipulate it and your tax discount will not be held up.

OK, single one of you is HOH in home.
You're NOT married.
If your state does not construct cohabitation illegal, next he could claim you and baby, him file HOH.
You can file your own income, if it be W2 and had withholding, and obtain back your withholding IF your income be under $3400, note your dependency exemption was claimed.
Although underage, he should qualify for some EIC and perchance child tax credit and that can be a nice repayment. At your income levels, the more you earn, the more you bring back back.
