Taxes Questions and Answers

Am i elgibile for the tax rebate if im filing my taxes but my mom is claiming me?

Answers: it depends on how much you earn. If she pays for at least half of what it takes to support you then you can file your taxes and she can also claim you as a dependent.
There is no "rebate" yet so there is no way to answer any questions regarding it. It's still being debated in Congress and there's about an equal chance that it will never become law.

The "rebate" is nothing more than a budget-busting vote buy by Bush and Congress. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail and the whole thing will die off quietly.

From the Federal deficit perspective it's about the same thing as getting a $5 a week pay raise but having your credit card debt doubled in return. A good deal if you don't have any debt, but a crushing burden if you're already saddled with too much debt.

What rates form(s) do I enjoy to spread out to claim my house taxes?

I have finally found my house due reciept from 2007. Can I claim this. What do I have to steep out? I am an empty nester. I own my own home outright and enjoy no mortgage.
My kids are both over 18 and neither are in college and they live on their own and even though I support my daughter, she will not concede it.
I am going to end up paying a exceedingly high amount of taxes this year.
Any suggestions except the house taxes would be helpful. I enjoy nothing. I am so screwed.

Answers: Schedule A. You will discount your property taxes and interest on your home on this form as well as your personal property taxes (Car Tax or Ad Valorem Tax) here as very well. In 2007 mortage insurance is also deductable.
You'd file a form 1040 and a programme A - the tax would show on the programme A.

If you are single you get a standard supposition of $5350 - on a joint return it's $10,700. You enjoy a choice of taking the standard deduction or fact list your itemized deductions - you 'd transport whichever is higher, so unless your itemized deduction including your house taxes are higher than the standard, you wouldn't use them. Other itemized deduction you might have are state and local income taxes - if you don't, you can subtract a standard sales import tax amount instead. Charitable deductions (with a receipt) are another itemized speculation.
It is a schedule A itemized assumption. You have to enjoy enough itemized deduction to be more than your standard deduction.

When completing import tax forms and a cubicle if stripe 5 is greater than strip 8 subtract stripe 8 from column 5 explain?

Working on 2007 tax forms. A paragraph states "If line 5 is greater than stripe 8, subtract line 8 from row 5 and enter the result. My mind has drew a blank. Could you please explain how I am subtracting numbers. Thank you

Answers: I am a bit confused in the region of what form that you are talking something like, but here is the easy bearing to figure it out. Do the weighing up on a separate piece of paper. First write down the number specifically on line 5. Just below that number, write the number specifically on line 8. Now is the top number larger than the bottom number? If it is not, the answer is nought (because typically the instructions will say if smaller quantity than zero, enter nil.) For instance if line 5 is $8000 and string 8 is $6000, you would enter $2000. However if it is the reverse, Line 5 is $6000 and Line 8 is $8000, then you enjoy zero.
Maybe you be just working and you be tired. Walk away and let your mind strengthen! ;)
Look at line 5, is it a bigger number than smudge 8? If it is than subtract the number on line 8 from the number on smudge 5. I know i have a brain fart every year when i do taxes and i stare at the quality newspaper for like 5 minutes
