I recive ssi and stated my hubby dosent live next to us or contribute. but we want to directory taxes together.?
i recive ssi for my autistic daughter and my husband dosent live with us or afford us money. but we want to file income duty together we aew legally married and enjoy 3 kids so we want to file married and claim adjectives kids to get the most what can happend if we do this??Answers: If you are reasonably married as of december 31st you can file collectively if you wish.
I receive SSI for my son, who have autism too.
If you are legally married, after nothing should prevent you from file together, especially if you both had job in 2007.
All the policy asks is what was your matrimonial status on December 31 for the tax year. If it be married (and there is no allowed separation agreement), you generally own two choices - married filing collective and married filing separate.
There is an exception one and only if you want to get out of file under one of those methods. They send for it married, but unmarried for tax purposes. Since this is not what you are trying to do, you can rightfully file as one with no worries.
Since the SSI is for a "disabled" child, it should not affect your benefits, but I am not 100% positive of this. Perhaps you already know the answer. If this is a concern for you, you should really check next to your local SSA office.
Taxation of Minors?
I'm seventeen years old, and enjoy heard that because I am a minor I should catch most of the taxes I paid this year backbone. I earned for a time under seven thousand dollars, and remunerated the following taxes:Fed - $500ish
Social Security - $500ish
Medicaid - $100ish
State - about $70
My dad said I won't take any of the Social Security back, but I'm in recent times curious how much I might get put a bet on considering that I'm a minor. Thanks!
Answers: You'll get some of it support but not all of it. With $7k contained by gross income your taxable income will be about $1,650 and the tariff will be $165. You'd get $335 rear legs on your Federal return.
Can't say give or take a few the State, don't know where you're from.
You don't attain anything back on the Social Security or Medicare.
Being a minor in truth RAISES your taxes since you can be claimed as a dependent by your parents and therefore lose your personal exemption. If you be an adult near that income you'd have received adjectives of the Federal taxes back and if you be between the ages of 25 and 64, a few hundred in Earned Income Credit as capably.
Possible state and fed. That is adjectives.
Listen to Dad, he's been through this copious times.
It has nought to do with anyone a minor, that doesn't give you any special breaks. You should gain some of the money back, not because you are a minor, but because you didn't label much so you don't owe a lot of income import tax. On around $7000 your total federal income tax would be around $166, so you'd bring back well over $300 subsidise since you overpaid by that much.
Whether you get anything hindmost from the state depends on what state you live in - respectively state has different state levy laws.
