Taxes Questions and Answers

What is the mail address for sending junk mail to the state of Michigan for charge information?

I need to dispatch them a letter concerning a conversion for my 2007 Michigan taxes. I can't find it anywhere on their website. Can someone please provide a link to it for me? Thanks a ton!

Look at this document. For full-size organizations such as due agencies, they have their own closure code, so no need for a street address or po box

W-2 Question.?

Hi. :)

I like to take our taxes filed impulsive, and so last hours of darkness I started our taxes, and I noticed that my husbands W-2 seem odd to me.

His Wages and Tips box list one amount, and then his Social Security Wages and Medicare wages schedule an amount $1000 more than the first box. He works as a Teachers Assistant in NC Public Schools.

Any opinion why this would be like that?? Is in attendance a reason or is it an error?

Any minister to would be super!! Thanks! :)

Answers: He might have put money into a retirement sketch and the funds were taken out pre-tax, and so, the difference in amounts reported on the "wages & tips" and "social guarantee wages" boxes is the amount that was put contained by.
If he's working for a public school district, most imagined that $1,000 went into a 403(b) (tax sheltered annuity). That money is eligible for the Retirement Savers Credit (see Form 8880) if he qualify for the credit.

I'm sure everyone's tired of seeing these kind of question lately...?

but my curiosity & agony has lead me to ask...
on income tax withholdings, on the w4, decency i don't even know how to ask it... more dependents means smaller amount taken out. how does head of household amount in? does it lead to more to be taken out or less? entering 1 for yourself, as capably as 1 for being single or married near a non working spouse. and if you claim dependents, do you need to provide their social wellbeing #? in my experience, nobody have ever been ready to answer my questions on this. i don't even know what my question really are. i want them to take out a high amount throughout the year so i get a biddable return. but again, nobody will advise me on how i should be innards out the forms. and what should i say when i jump to claim my tax return? i own friends who don't have children, and worked 1/2 the year near a low salary who bring back huge tax returns. i hold never gotten above $80. it just seem unfair. i don't know if im doing it right and if anyone have any recommendations? thnx

Answers: You do not want a hulking tax return. It sound close to you are doing things exactly right if you get simply $80 back.

People draw from refunds because they overpay their taxes. Instead of overpaying, you've have less taken out of your check, kept your own money adjectives year long and had the potential to earn interest from it.

Your friends hold too much money coming out of their checks and the government is making interest on it instead of them. Maybe they own various deduction or credits that you don't qualify for, but they can avoid getting a refund by claiming more exemptions and the govt will bear less from their checks.

Head of household is for nation providing more than 50% of the support for someone else that could be considered a dependent. More exemptions and/or dependents decrease your taxable income.

I be claiming 1 because I was single and I get a big refund every year beacuse of deduction and education credits. but later I started claiming 5, and now I don't obtain a big refund, but smaller amount money is taken out of my check, so I am keeping my money. You are doing the right thing.
not a soul is "entitled" to a big refund - that ability they are getting smaller weekly paychecks- you don;t know what these other people enjoy as deductions or exemptions - to guarantee the most settlement, file a untried w-4 at work and put down single and 0 - you will get smaller amount take home settle in your paycheck, but that's how you draw from a bigger refund, adjectives other things being matching - if they can afford to only work partially a year, then they must be married near other sources of income
