A puzzler! - We declared our foreign and domestic income but are we still due a compensation?
Hi, I am in turbo export tax hell and thought someone here could help me out. Here is our situation within a nutshell.I am from overseas but resident for tax purposes. My husband is a US citizen.
We both worked overseas contained by 2007. I was competent to exclude my foreign earned income as I be in the UK Jan- Dec assembly the 330 day rule. My husband returned to the US within august 2007 and did not meet the 330 time rule.
In the UK in 2007 he earn $11,414 and when he returned to the USA he made $12,519. I have input both these totals (one as w-2 income and the other as foreign earn income.). I have completed form 2555 for myself just and declared $31, 353. I did not earn in the USA contained by 2007.
So in Turbo toll our 1040 looks like this Line7(Wages salary tips etc) - $ 23, 930 and line 21 have -$42, 757 and line 22 have -$18,827.
Why are lines 21& 22 in minus data and why is turbo tax still saw we have a full compensation of the federal and state taxes my husband paid this year?
Answers: You did it wrong. First you include, consequently you exclude.
Line 7 is positive $55186.

I recieved two W-2 and when I file newly one it says I'm getting close to $300 dollars more back than when I database both. Do I have to profile both or just one?Answers: You enjoy to file EVERY W-2 that you received from income within 2007.
Did you work two jobs? Then Yes.
If they come from the same employer - one of them probably say "Corrected" on it. If not -talk to your employer to find out which one is the correct one.
You must include all income on you return. it sounds resembling you did not have satisfactory taxes withheld.
Road tariff and fines?
My tax run out on the 31st of January, but im indecisive as to whether i should just SORN it or renew the import tax, how long have i get to decide up to that time i get fined??Answers: fines are usually issued after 14 days of expiry but upto 30 days.
I hoope you realise sorn medium you can no longer use the vehicle on the public highway.....im sure you do!
It used to be accepted as 14 days but DVLA in a minute state that there is no spell of grace allowed and you need to any tax or SORN it in a minute.
