I e-filed through H&R Block's TaxCut and have my refund direct-deposited -- it took 8 days. CHECKS filch longer. You should have direct-deposited. The concluding time I had the check MAILED to me, it took roughly speaking 4 weeks, and I haven't done that in years.

Go to the IRS website and you can bring back an estimation of how long it'll take...
I file on TaxAct.com before the 11th, and according to the e-mails I enjoy received and also the IRS website, we will have checks mail out on the 22nd. If we had opt for direct deposit, it would have be a week sooner, but we prefer to have the checks. I would check the IRS site (www.irs.gov). You can check the status of your discount there (under the "Where's my refund" tab). It will prompt you to enter your SSN and the amount of your compensation, and after you enter the info, it will display a date of when you can expect the refund.

Hope this help!
Go to this website:

It will tell you exactly when you should expect your compensation to be direct depositer or check to be sent pending that you dont owe any vertebrae tax payments. Hope this help.

How much of my household expenses can i claim for my business?

I am a self-employed freelance graphic designer, I am base from home and half of my bedroom is an bureau. I work from home 2 days a week and in client office 3 days a week.

I'm wondering how much (if any) of the following I can claim as a business expense, with relation to UK levy law:
- My rent (as my organization is at home and i work from home)
- Electricty cost (as above)
- Internet and phone line (both are used almost exclusively for business use)
- Council excise

I genuinely use my home for my business so i'm sure i should know how to claim some of the above, i'm just not sure how much or how to divide it.

Answers: The formula i use is. firstly add together you houshold bills eg. gas, electric etc to find your twelve-monthly total. (eg lb1000).
now divide the total by 365 giving a day by day cost (eg 27.77)
divide the 27.77 by the amount of rooms in the house (eg 5)
giving respectively room a cost of lb5.55 per room per day.
muliply the each day amount by the amount of days you use the room each week giving a believable tax deductable integer.

Yes rent should be included in the calculation.
Claim proportion of rent based on number of rooms contained by dwelling, but excluding kitchen and bathroom.
Restrict this to 2/7 to represent occupancy.
Claim ppn. of council tariff, light and bake on same basis. Don't forget insurance, sea rates etc if you pay these.
Claim 90% of internet and phone.
One Step Down from God is spot on.

If you have shared parenting 50/50 can each parent claim the child on taxes 6months /6months?

Answers: No.

With the IRS it is all or nothing.

Maybe you could write up an agreement and get it notorized which will state who claims the child which year.

If there is no agreement and a divorce decree states who gets the exemption, then that is what will be gone by.

If you ask the IRS they will determine that whomever had physical custody of the child on December 31 would be the one that claims the child.

Or, both of you can figure your taxes out both ways (claiming vs. not claiming) then come to an agreement to split the largest refund attributed to the child.

Very complicated and will require the two of you to reach a consensus.

Good luck
no, there is no splitting a child any more...
365 days last year one of you had them one day longer...
if you cannot figure it out usually the person with the higher agi is allowed ..

i say run the numbers both ways and see where it benefits you the most
No, only one of you can claim the child. You can decide which one if you can agree - otherwise the parent the child is with the greater part of the year, even one night more, gets the exemption.
