Solo 401k sustain?
can I open a solo 401k (I'm self employed) in a minute...take $10k that I gather last year and put it surrounded by there and moderate my taxable imcome for 2007?Answers: If you open a solo 401K story NOW, then you cannot use that to stifle your taxable income for 2007 but for 2008.
You should have open your account by December 31, 2007
There is a demarcate on how much you can deduct. It is the lower of 4,000 unless you are 50 or older next it is 5,000 OR the amount of your taxable compensation for the year. If you contribute more than the allowed deductible amount you must file form 8606 to show that the difference is a nondeductible contribution or it will be considered a distribution and you will be tax.
YOU HAVE UNTIL APRIL 15, 2008 to make contribution for 2007. You must permit the person who sets up the IRA know that it should be considered a contribution for 2007.

What can i do? I left my position as an accountant and i can not get my job back. I quit on Dec 2007?
Answers: Can you go to a temporary employment agency and see if they can put you to work right away in your career area? And, help you find a permanent job?
It sucks to be unemployed but you can't feel sorry for yourself. You need to try to find a new job.
The temporary agency is a good idea, they are allways in need of well educated professionals. Also try sending or faxing resumes to everyone (all companies need accountans and you don't have to wait for them to post a wanted ad).
Oh my gosh! If you are an accountant that did public accounting and taxes, you are red hot right now. Contact some of the major firms in your area. I don't now which part of the country you live in, but if nothing else if you do 1040's open a shop of your own real quick. You've only have about 10 weeks left to make some serious money, but if you can hussle, then do it. But...only 10% of CPA's actually do public taxes.
Good luck!
