Taxes Questions and Answers

Where do you go to do your federal taxes for FREE online?

Answers: If your adjusted gross income was $54,000 or less in 2007, you can use Free File to prepare and e-file your taxes online.
ideally you should do both your federal and state together.
See here for some links to online tax sites.

Hmm…….great question. Wasn’t too sure of the answer myself... But looking around I found a site on filing taxes online that has what you need in detail: http://tubeurl.com/file-taxes-online and some other info on it.

Hope this answer helps, as I know you asking it helped me. If it doesn’t send me a message and I’ll try to help you out with it some more.

How much will my boyfriend receive for claiming me as a dependant? He made a little over $25,000.00.?

Answers: To others replying to this question: You *can* claim someone not related to you as a dependent if they meet all the requirements: They must not be able to be claimed as a dependent on anyone else's taxes, they must have lived as part of your household for the entire year, they must have no income above a certain very minimal amount, and you must have paid more than half of their support for the year.

Your boyfriend will not "receive" anything for claiming you as a dependent, but he will be able to subtract you as an exemption from his total income, so his Adjusted Gross Income (the amount he pays taxes on) will be lower.
If he can claim you he would receive 3.400 off of his gross income, which would reduce his taxable income. How much he gets back depends on his taxable income and how much taxes he paid and if he receives any refundable credits.

He can claim you as a qualifying relative if he can't be claimed as a dependent and,
You lived with him all year
You are not the qualifying child of another taxpayer
He provided over half of your support
You did not have over 3,400 of earned income
If he is eligible to claim you at all, he'd probably save around $500.

I employed an independent contractor concluding year. I am innards out and giving him a form 1099-MISC for?

the money he earned ultimate year (as a non-employee)

The form 1099-MISC has a total of 5 page.

It appears that I need to pass him only 2 of the 5 page? I, the employer keep 3 page ??

It appears that I have him the page that say:

COPY B For Recipient

COPY 2 To be filed near recipient's state income tax return, when required.

Anyone enjoy any ideas?

Answers: Check out the IRS website for the instructions on how to use the form. It depends upon the state you are contained by to determine how many copies are needed and to whom they should be given.
