Can I claim my 19 year antiquated college son on my taxes?
He lives in another state but I am helping him near books and some of his billsAnswers: In order to claim your son as a dependent:
1. He must be (a) lower than age 19 at the end of the year, (b) below age 24 at the end of the year and a full-time student, or (c) any age if for good and totally disabled.
2. He must have lived beside you for more than half of the year.
3. He must not hold provided more than half of his own support for the year.
Yes. The federal Gov't have decided that your child is dependant until the age of 24 years. In certainty, if you or your son pay for academy out of pocket, there will be a 1098 Form deliver to you in the post from the College for Tuition and Fees. You file this form near the Tax Return for the year you incurred the expenses. However, expenses that you are not able to (legally) include are books, computers, food, pens/pencils, notebook, ect.
This 1098 Form is so you may file for HOPE Credit, and believe me. The idea they call it HOPE Credit is because over partially of parents are not able to seize it. I believe for 2007 your income has to be $37,000 or smaller amount ($74,000 filling jointly).
Hope this help. You can get more info at www.irs.gov.
If he is away due to academy and he does not provide over one half of his own support afterwards he is still your qalifying child.
If he is not away due to school and you provide over one partially of his support and he does not make over 3,400 you can claim him.
Will i be able to file my taxes with Turbo Tax if i had more than one job?
Answers: Yes, just include all W-2s or 1099s.
Sure, you just list each W-2. Make sure you have all of your W-2's before you file.
What is the W-2 form?
Can someone please explain to me what the W-2 form is, I got it a couple of weeks ago since I have my first job and no longer work, since i am studying. Do I receive a refund? is that the box# 2? Is it individual for people who enjoy a dependent? Can it be given to a dependent? Any other forms that I should know? and If I do get a discount in what type of form will I find it? Do I have to repay something?Answers: The above is correct. The W-2 tells you what you earn and had withheld.
Go to the public library and pick up a duty form 1040 EZ or get one online from http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/index.html
You can pack in adjectives the info on your own. There are instructions listed contained by the form.
File it. You may get a repayment, and since you are a student and are probably not making much now, you would probably capture a refund
The W-2 is an returns statement.
Go to www.IRS.gov and get a 1040EZ form. Fill it out, or dance to Taxslayer.com and let them run it. It will convey you if you get a return or not.
W-2 is U-2's little brothers garage band.
Just kid! Pick up a tax "E-Z short form" at the post bureau or library and it will explain everything. Don’t let it intimidate you. It is indeed E-Z.
Teh W-2 form is your employer's statement of what you be paid (your web pay) and what deductions from your overall (or gross) returns were made. You use this document as a justification for filling out your IRS Form 1040, which is where on earth you calculate what taxes are owed to the senate, if any. When you have completed this form, you'll know whether ot not you are entitled to a repayment. If yo have never done your taxes beforehand, you need to grasp with someone who have done so, use tax preparation software (such as TurboTax, to label but one of many), or go to a import tax preparer to have them done for you. Remember that the deadline to submit your levy return (the -1040 and its supporting documents) is midnight on 15 April.
Good luck!
This is the document that has most of the information you requirement to file your taxes.
Box 1 is how much money you made finishing year.
Box 2 is how much taxes were taken out of your paychecks for the year.
Boxes 3 and 5 are probably duplicate number as box one. It is how much of your income was taxable.
Boxes 4 and 6 are more money the senate took out of your check for social security and medicare.
You want to go to www.Turbotax.com. Create an side, its pretty easy. Then click database a return. They walk you through the unbroken process. It will cost about $40 but is express and easy. You will probably attain most if not adjectives of Box #2 back. Good luck.
I would enjoy a friend that has done it previously show you how though just within case you catch confused.
