Hello. I am invoicing a French company for editorial services from Canada. Do I charge 5% GST?

Answers: Yes. Even if you only worked 1 week, they must provide with a W2 - especially if they made the proper deductions from your pay.
They do, even if you worked half an hour.

How moch money do I need to make before I can file tax?




Answers: If you are single and under the age of 65 you don't have to file taxes if you make less than $8,750 last year.

If you are married filing jointly and both you and your spouse are under 65, you don't have to file taxes if you made less than $17,500 last year combined.

If you are a dependent of someone else, and are under the age of 65, you don't have to file taxes if you made less than $5,350 of earned income.

Even if you don't have to file taxes, you may want to as you would get most if not all of the taxes you paid to the IRS back as a refund.
