Texas Tax Help!?
Me and my husband seem to remuneration so much into the state everyyear for Taxes. We don't have any children and clain no dependents. We salaried in almost 8,000 dollars and made 71,000! Why are we singular getting back 900 dollars! HELP! Does this nouns normal!Answers: If you enjoy no deductions, similar to mortgage ins.,medical, dentist etc that equal enough for you to itemize afterwards making 71,000 filing as one puts you into a high income bracket. That seem a little high-ranking but I would double check it. Again that could be correct depending on your status.
Edit- It does not matter if we hold a state income tax or not. That does not effect your feed. Tax.
Well, Texas doesn't have a state income export tax, so you probably paid this 9k to the gov't.
Last year I salaried 9500 after only making 35k. I'm getting 1500 of it backbone though...
What you have sounds almost right.
A couple of things for you to check:
Are you claiming your mortgage interest as a deduction?
are you itemizing your deduction or taking the standard?
Did you just use a computer program or did you use a charge professional?
What you paid contained by seems low, but you still get money back, so polite for you.
Can you try keeping up this year with gas, sports car expensices, clothes, for dedutions,,,
That would be my suggestion and you can always receive more back when you hold a kid, not as much as low income familys ..
I only go and get $3,500 for I have clamied my daughter and my brother contained by law!! We buy adjectives his school clothes and supplies!!
That is my suggestion!! Thank you!
Texas doesn't enjoy a state income tax. The solely way you could money a state tax is if you played the lottery, or purchased items which have a sales toll.
It sounds like you're discussion about federal import tax; you are having toll withheld from your income in the amount of $8000, and getting a repayment of $900 at the end of the year, because that is to say the amount you overpaid. With no dependents, you don't have incredibly many option to save, since you don't qualify for Earned Income Credit.
Your lone option is to swot how to itemize deductions. This requires that you maintain meticulous records of adjectives deductible expenses, such as home mortgage interest, student loan interest, medical expenses not covered by insurance and charitable donations. Plan all charitable donations; other donate to a reputable company such as Goodwill or the Salvation Army and always request a bill. You are responsible for calculating the value of your charitable donation.
Your income is thoroughly high. My husband and I hold had to survive on a GROSS collective income of $44,000. We don't see most of that, because so much is deducted from my husband's paycheck for taxes and condition insurance.
You are very lucky to enjoy an above average income for Texas residents. Take it in stride, and be glad you get some money back.
What if i recieve a w-2 after i already filed my taxes?
Answers: You can timely correct a mistake of this kind without penalty if you file your amended return (Form 1040X) before April 15, 2008.
Wait until your refund is processed (but not later than April 15) to amend your return and pay any additional amount due.
Links to the forms below:
if you already included that jobs wages and information on your filed taxes, then nothing. i filed before i got my w-2 because i already had all of the info.
thumbs down? jeez, i guess my personal experiences suck.
i was only saying "if", the asker didn't say whether or not he included the job on his taxes.
You need to file an ammendment. If its under 100 earned then I just probably wouldn't file it. But anything over that needs to be ammended. If you had your taxes done by someone else they normally charge an additional fee to ammend. good luck!
