If somebody owes the IRS money - will they still get the rebate check that's coming in June?
Answers: Any refundable credit that posts to your account will be offset to any balance due.
This is another way of saying yes you will and how you spend it has already been decided.
Is the amount owed to the IRS more or less than the check? If the amount owed is less than the check, the IRS would probably withhold only the amount owed and pay the difference. If the amount owed is more than (or as much as) the check, they might not send anything. In either case, the amount still owed to the IRS would be reduced by the amount withheld from the rebate.

Income Tax?
I'm filling out my FAFSA form for subsequent year. I'm going to be a grad student. It asks a question something like the total income tax remunerated in 2007. What does that include is your total income excise, just federal charge or does it include Social Security and medicare tax too?
I'm basically wondering
Answers: Just answer the question that be asked. If it asks for how much INCOME TAX was compensated, add up your Federal, State, and Local income taxes compensated ONLY. That would not include SS or Med taxes.
Social security and medicare are not income charge.
