IRS Offset Question...HELP?

I done my taxes through HNR Block,I did (RAL)1-2 day.Icalled for my check the subsequent day and found out that they held my return because I have a childsupport arrearage. The IRS Where's My Refund says my check will be direct deposit on Feb12,2008.I don't get where it will direct deposit to.Will it turn to HNR Blocks bank, since that be where I did my taxes through?I did not distribute them my bank picture info...And it also said to check back no sooner than FEB 17,2008 if my deposit be not made..If a deposit is scheduled to be done on a specific hours of daylight are they posted on that day?I call the offset rank and the offset have been updated? Has anyone have this happen to them? How long is the difficulty?Thank You

Answers: It will be direct deposited to H&R block's account. The IRS is not involved near RALs or arrangements made between the preparer and taxpayer. Most refunds are deposited on Fridays. If "Where's My Refund" indicated that it would be 2/12, check next to HR Block now. It's probable the refund, if any be remaining after the offset, be deposited to their account Friday 2/08. The IRS cannot trace direct deposit refund until 5 days have passed from the planned date of deposit. That's why they said not to check again before 2/17/08.
I work for H&R Block. When you took the RAL you signed your return to HSBC ridge, who pays H&R BLock and takes out fees plus loan interest plus $30.
Since you hold an offset, your Refund Anticipation Loan be cancelled.
If there is anything departed after the IRS offset HSBC will donate you the rest.
The deposit refers to HSBC bank who is processing your discount.
You will your money on the prepaid master card, at the H&R Block or direct deposit depending on what you chose when you did your taxes.

Why do my husband and I owe so much within federal and state taxes? We just receive any money!?

My husband and I both live and work in Kansas. We made a COMBINED $42,658 surrounded by 2007. TaxACT says that we owe $1,082 contained by federal taxes and $319 in state taxes. I don't get the message. Would it be better if we filed separately? Before I enter any of my husband's W2s the program was stating a $609 federal import tax return and a $40 state tax return. It seem that for some reason my husband be claiming 2 on state and federal for a $1285.83 W2 from a job he have for a couple weeks. Other than that we have both be claiming 1 on federal and state.

Answers: you owe more because people resembling us have to fashion sure we pay within enough for the rich to not own to pay taxes and to construct sure that bush's tax cuts on the amazingly wealthy dont cut into the govt's share. The rich own enough deduction and loopholes that they never have to pay cheque taxes.
Usually it is better to file collectively.

Usually the spouse with the better wages fills out their W-4 for Married next to 2 allowances, while the spouse with the lower wages files married but withhold at the difficult single rate and no allowances.

You should owe about $3,000 surrounded by taxes and you should have have that much withheld from your payroll checks. That will vary base on your exact circumstances - do you own a house and itemize etc...

You can always telephone the IRS and walk through your due return with them.
You owe so much because you underwithheld on your W-4. What is the total toll that you owe? Is it the $1082? Because if so, that is an successful tax rate of 2.5%. which pretty darn virtuous. Do you have itemized deduction like mortgage interest, property taxes, state taxes, etc etc etc?

Total tax owed of $1082 is awesome! that is a highly very low potent rate. If you have plenty to itemize you can claim state and local taxes as a deduction, or you can claim sale tax. But if you don't own a house, you probably don't own enough to itemize, you would a moment ago use the standard deduction.
I aspiration the tax packages wouldn't predict the discount until ALL W-2 and schedule C income have been enter.

Then you wouldn't be so disappointed that the "refund" flipped from money back to money owed when you enter the last W-2. Even though he held the work for only a few weeks, putting single/0 probably would hold behaved alike, except the amount due would have be lower.
Because he had 2 flecked down, they didn't take adequate taxes out, so the $1,082 in federal and $319 within state is what they would have taken out if he have marked 1 or 0.
This is exactly why I hold 0 down so they will take out more than ample to cover my taxes.
