If you capture a due rebate are you uneligible for the stimulus rebate?

My question is, If you receive a state and fedral tariff return/low income credit, are you then ineligble for the stimulus export tax rebate checks? Lots of people are working and file taxes but they with-hold enough to receive the state/federal import tax rebates. These citizens received ZERO contained by 2000 when the Bush Adm. issued one time rebate checks. Is this the case again? I can`t find an answer any where on earth.

Answers: Under the compromise bill passed by the Congress, you would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much surrounded by Federal Income Tax. If you only remunerated $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you individual get vertebrae $350. If you had earn income of at least $3000, you would return with at least the minimum rebate of $300.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is in actuality a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to nil percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

It's like a one time excise cut for 2008, but you get the rebate in a minute instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes. Because this is an finance payment on your 2008 taxes, your settlement next year could be more (or smaller number!) depending on your 2008 income.

Use the calculator below to compute your rebate.
Here is some good info on the rebate that I have found. Take a look to see, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they should get it, some of the restrictions own changed since the last rebate. Good Luck =)

Who Gets What and When?
Congress have passed the $170 billion economic stimulus bill, highlighted by Tax Rebate Checks. Based on details released by the rule so far, here's how the 2008 tax rebate will work.

When Will the Checks be Mailed?
The Treasury Department have stated that the IRS will begin mail the rebate checks starting in rash May. The Treasury estimates that it should take roughly speaking 10 weeks for all the checks to be mail.

Persons who fail to directory their 2007 tax returns by April 15, 2008 and request a file extension may not receive rebate checks until as late as December.

Who Will Get Tax Rebated Checks?
Tax rebate checks will be mail to about 117 million middle- and low-income taxpayers. Thanks to amendments made to the bill surrounded by the Senate, some 20 million retirees living on Social Security and 250,000 U.S. veterans receiving disability benefits will also receive checks.

Single tax filers next to adjusted gross incomes (AGI) smaller amount than $75,000 and couples filing mutually with AGIs smaller quantity that $150,000 will qualify for full rebates.

Remember that your AGI is not your annual take-home pay or income. Your AGI is your taxable income from all sources including wages, salary, tips, interest, dividends, etc. minus IRS-allowed adjustments to income.

How Much Will You Get?
Qualifying single filers (AGI smaller number than $75,000) will get rebate of up to $600. Qualifying couples (AGI less than $150,000) will gain rebates of up to $1,200, plus $300 per dependent child, beside no maximum on the number of eligible children.

Persons who owe no income taxes, but earned at most minuscule $3,000 in income from Social Security and veterans disability will capture rebate checks of $300 for individuals and $600 for couples.

What if You Made More than the Maximum Income?
You will still get a check, but it will be reduced by 5-percent of the amount you earn above the AGI income caps of $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for couples.

For example: A single filer next to no children and an adjusted gross income of $80,000, or $5,000 over the AGI sou`wester, will see their rebate check reduced by $250 (5% of $5,000), and will get a check for $350, instead of $600.

At some income point above the AGI income cap, the rebate checks will phase out completely.

For example: A single filer with no kids and an in tune gross income of $87,000, or $12,000 over the AGI cap, will not gain a rebate check because it would be reduced by the full $600 (5% of $12,000).

What Do You Have to Do to Get a Check?
To get a rebate check, you must report a tax return; any a form 1040 or 1040-EZ federal tax return for rates year 2007.

Persons who do not normally not record tax returns, close to retirees and disabled veterans, will have to database a 2007 tax return within order to capture a rebate check.
If you have plenty withheld that you get a compensation, that doesn't mean you haven't compensated as much tax as other ethnic group. (Note that it's called a REFUND, by the road, and not a REBATE.) The fact that you get a refund lately means you have your employer send more of your check to the IRS than other citizens did. You still paid *exactly* equal amount of tax as family with like income did. The government doesn't see any difference between the two.

I dream up you're wrong about the 2001 rebate program.
Getting a return doesn't disqualify you from the stimulus rebate - you do have to own at least $3000 within reportable income though.
