Federal withholding and i'm 16?
I'm 16, and at my first job I of late got my 2nd paycheck and seriously is taken out for federal withholding, and i just want to know what specifically.I think it have something to do with taxes, but i thought citizens didnt have to reward those unless they were 18...? =/
Answers: The federal (and state) withhold or keep hold of part of your paycheck for taxes. Next year, database both federal and state tax returns so that you can draw from this money back. :)
You thought wrong something like not having to salary taxes until you are 18. It depends on how much money you make, not how prehistoric you are.
If you make underneath $5350 for the year, you'll get everything refund to you that is taken out for federal income export tax. You won't get support the amount taken out for social security and medicare, and might or might not acquire any state withholding refunded.
You still own to pay them but you will seize all of that final as well as your state taxes at the cease of the year because you are a minor, they still have to give somebody a lift it out but dont worry you will procure it all wager on come tax time.

i worked for a mowing service during the summer and the owner did not send out the w2's back the 30th of jan...will he be fined for that? i still have not recieved the w2Answers: I work for Walmart and they didn't distribute me mine either, (I'm out on workman's comp) I go over there and asked for it. Try calling the company or budge by there. If that doesn't work walk to
http://www.irs.gov/
and see what you can find there on how to retrieve your w2
freshly because you didn't get the W2 doesn't be a sign of he didn't send it. Do you know for a certainty he didn't send them? I work for the post organization and I see hundreds of W2's with insufficient address. illegable addresses. sometimes they are even sent to the wrong closure code or eaten by the machines. Mail flies through the machines, hundreds of pieces a minute, and if the contraption gets stopped up, your memorandum could be bunched up and torn to peices.
