Does CA state disability count within regard to eligibility for the 2008 "levy rebate" packet?
I got over $3000 from CA state disability, no taxes be due, will I get a rebate?Answers: Not expected, as it's not taxable income.
Rules are pretty fuzzy yet, but probably not.
Can someone explain this to me please?
I was looking for info on the rates rebate stimulus package and found this:Rebate. An eligible individual will receive a key credit equal to the greater of: (1) his net income levy liability up to a maximum of $600 ($1,200 for a joint return); or (2) $300 ($600 for a pooled return) if either (a) the taxpayer's qualify income is at least $3,000; or (b) his lattice income tax liability is at most minuscule $1 and gross income is greater than the sum of the applicable basic standard speculation amount and one personal exemption (two personal exemptions for a joint return). Qualifying income is earn income generally, veterans' disability payments (including payments to survivors of disabled veterans), and social wellbeing benefits. There will be an additional $300 per-child credit amount.

Does this niggardly if you had $0 tariff liability that you will not get the rabate? For example, we made going on for $40k but got spinal column all our taxes b/c we own 4 kids.
Answers: It says you will find the GREATER of either (1) or (2).
(1) is your web tax liability, which according to you is nought.
(2) is $300 per person.
So, which is greater? That's what you attain.
(Also, you'll get an added $300 per child.)
your still qualified...$1200(married couple) plus $300/child x 4 = $1600
Total of $2800
wow..enjoy
document:
$600 if you guys only gross atleast $3000
That line "the greater of the two" is the push button. You will still get the rebate.
God Bless America...I guess.
Reading it that mode, it would appear that you would get a rudimentary rebate of $600, plus an additional $300 per child ($1,200) for a impressive total of $1,800.
See Tax return estimate earlier I prepare them?
Is there a means of access to see how much I should get put a bet on on my taxes before I in fact prepare them? I went to H&R block final year and only get back a couple of hundred pay for. When i told my friend about this his wife(accountant) say I should have received 3 times that amount. So any sites or software I can use or buy to see an estimate past I prepare them?Answers: H & R Block has a tariff refund calculator. I've used it for ending 4 yr.s for sure; It's actually rather accurate.
Or you can go thru the undamaged return process and see what your refund is.
If you fashion less the $54,000, you can qualify to e-file for free thru partner of the IRS Free File program.
Or you can go to Block's site and pick whichever pack you need, walk to "New User" and then choose "Create Username & Password Later".
This process you can go thru the entire process find out what your compensation is and then close out the session short saving any information or paying for the prep/filing.
progress to h&r block free tax estimator.

flawless luck.
TaxAct has free federal file, and you are able to see what you will attain back or settle in state taxes as okay (there's an additional duty for state).
Its a very smooth site to use, so give it a try.
The one and only way to see how much you'll achieve back is to enter the numbers on the forms. You can do this at most of the online sites, similar to TurboTax, or at irs.gov.
If your friend's accountant wife is correct, then you should record an amended return for last year. (Fill out a form 1040X.) Keep contained by mind that, unless she had adjectives your actual figures within front of her, she may have be wrong or at the least exaggerating a bit when she claimed you should hold gotten "three times" the refund you did.
