Tax press?
On turbo tax if we file jointly I would owe taxes. If we report seperate;y Turbo Tax says we will get hold of a refund. Is this true and why?Answers: It is possible to get hold of a refund file seperately for ONE of you and then you would owe for the other personage. Make sure when you "file seperate" you are completing BOTH returns and that singular 1 person is taking the deduction for things like mortgage, children etc.
If you with the sole purpose reviewed on persons "seperate" return, it could appear that you are getting a discount when you actually didn't see what is owed on the second return.
maybe, one of you all draw from a refund? or do both of you?
if one of you adjectives didnt pay enought federal contained by, then they would owe the govt. the other human being receiving the income, would grasp a refund.it is possible though that when you put the income together, the personality paying the most tax, doesnt own enought to cover both of you all. and you adjectives end up beside a balance due... to be precise very dying out though
Tax discount seem wrong?
For this year's tax file, I only am due $566 from feed. I paid over $3,000 surrounded by witholding. Does that seem right? I report as single, claim 1, I don't own property, no kids. I made $38,000 last year. So why is my federal compensation so small? If compared to previous years where I merely made less than $20,000 I get back $500 too. I other seem to get hold of a set $500 back no situation how much I made. And another weird piece is I got fund every penny from state this year, so shouldn't I be getting back more from federal? Also, within 2006 HR Block told me I was due a $3,000 repayment, they ended up man wrong because I only get $500 back. For some source, I feel approaching I should be refunded more than $500 for 2007.Answers: The H&R Block duty calculator I used gave you $987 as a reimbursement. I plugged in $38,000 near withholding of $3,000.. no other income or dependents, claiming as single. So, yes, your refund should unambiguously be more than $566. You must have disappeared something out of your question.. not sure what the difference is. Best Wishes.
you can submerge on turbotax.com right now and input adjectives your info without file with them.
But to me, that sounds pretty fair-- you hold no deductions whatsoever, so you lone get the standard one.
Here's the push button: how much % was man taken out of your paycheck every week or month? Remember, that refund is what you OVERPAID the IRS. I have a $4000 difference in my income contained by 2006, but I got simply $20 less pay for in discount.
The thing I other do is check that last paystub I received contained by the year and see how much was taken out by the Feds vs. how much my taxable income be. I've also had years where on earth I claimed zero on my W-2's and get back a boatload contained by refund because they be withholding more every month. I switched that because I needed more of my money at home.
Your tax rate increased next to your salary increase.
We "reward" those that brand name less money near lower taxes as a percentage.
The more you make, the more they transport.
Ain't America grand?
Your be a foil for due should be around $900.
$38,000 - 5350 - 3400 = 29250. Tax liability for single is 4000. So if you paid 3,000 you still owe 1000.
Will individuals who have earnings over $3,000, but are claimed as dependents on their parent taxes receive $$
Answers: Regardless of whether your parents claim you as a dependent, under the terms of the compromise bill passed by Congress, you also would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350. Since you had earned income of at least $3000, you would get at least the minimum rebate of $300.
While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.
It's like a one time tax cut for 2008, but you get the rebate now instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes. Because this is an advance payment on your 2008 taxes, your refund next year could be more (or less!) depending on your 2008 income.
you should be able to receive you federal with holding back, when you file your federal taxes, as for the stimulus act.i beleive your parents will get your 300, b/c you were filed as a dependent
