Help near file Taxes for Lifetime or Hope credit?
My dilemma is this: I first attended my first year of college in 2004, and for that toll year my parents sent my taxes(as an independant) to her CPA to do the taxes and I got a huge return(I work full time as well) So I'm guessing they applied for Hope Credit afterwards. Now since then, I have to stop from going to school and started up again final Fall '07, so it's really my "2nd" year of College, now I'm wondering if I am competent to claim Hope credit again or is it a one time deal? Because, to my fluency, it's stated first 2 years of "post secondary" school.Another cross-question is, they need you to attend at smallest half-time for school to claim any credit which is about 6 units/credits for the school I've attended. Now I took a class in a university as powerfully as community college but the units/credits add up to 6 total not from a single institution to another, do they count the total you've taken or singular for any single school.

Answers: I cant remember bad the top of my head but if you use Turbo Tax (like i did) it will ask you a series of question and determine if you qualify
