Child levy press?
my son was born 11-5-07. I be wondering why i only get $1000 credit for him when the max is $3400? is it because of when he was born?Answers: I conjecture you are talking in the order of the special "Child Tax Credit" bill. This tax credit is for children age 17 and lower than who are your dependents. The credit is limited to $1,000 regardless of the child's age.
The personal exemption is $3400 and the child toll credit is $1000.
You are confusing two different items on a tax return.
Your getting the Child Tax Credit mixed up beside the dependency exemption.
On your tax return, you own the standard deduction next the exemptions. The $3400 is in regard to the exemptions you claimed on line 6a,b,c. So if it's a moment ago you and your son, that's 2 exemptions X's $3400.
If you got the $1000 for the Child Tax Credit, you received the maximum benefit.
FYI - Any child that be born within '07, even if have lived only for a moment, is considered as have lived with you adjectives year.
Earned Income Cedit?
I am doing my sisters return for her and I first used the hrblock calulator which said she would be getting a refund of 1179 earn income credit was 1130. Then I go to file on turbotax and is say her refund is 1010 beside earned income credit be 965. I was of late wondering why the difference. She only made 2799 beside ferderal 49.21 ss 173.59 medicare 40.60. ThanksAnswers: You had to own done one or both of them incorrectly to get different numbers out.
At that income plane, the EIC with one child is $944. With 2 children it's $1,110. None of those clash up with any of the numbers you report so it looks approaching both of them were fat-fingered somehow.
The correct reimbursement based upon your numbers is if truth be told $1,159. Please re-check your work.
Because when you did the estimator, you indicated that she had 2 kids.
When you did the toll return, you indicated that she had individual one kid.
Hello
I am assuming that your sister qualifies for the earn income credit. I am also assuming that you just used the hrblock calculator lone instead of the hrblock tax software. What I would do is find a friend or someone that have the hrblock software (the software should be abundant because I get a free disk in the mail) and plug the numbers contained by. If the hrblock tax software comes up near the higher numbers; later I would use the hrblock software to file next to. HRBlock guarantees your returns against audits as long as you enter the correct information. I don't know why you got different results contained by the hrblock calculation and turbo levy. Remember that the calculation is single an estimate. Actual results may vary depending upon other things which are enter. Hope this helps!
