Taxes Questions and Answers

I read the Tax rebate is deduct from 2009 export tax return. Is this true?

I read an article that said the rebate money is not free money. The MSN article said whatever amount I receive will be deduct from my 2009 tax return or (if the return is not ample to cover the rebate) will actually become a liability.

This is so typical of how politicians chew over - how will that help me? I'd fairly do without a rebate check if I am purely going to be given a bill for it next year. Why not call upon it a tax loan instead of a duty rebate?

Can you clarify how this rebate works? Can I decline the check so I won't have to salary it back contained by 2009?

Answers: While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is actually a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, surrounded by 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to zero percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

It's resembling a one time tax cut for 2008, but you go and get the rebate now instead of waiting to record your 2008 taxes. Because this is an advance giving on your 2008 taxes, your refund subsequent year could be more (or less!) depending on your 2008 income.
NO, you DO NOT PAY IT BACK. Period.

There are speculation almost where this money is coming from... associates saying we're "taking from out children", doesn`t matter what.

But no, its not a liability.
This is from an article on cnn.com:

The checks are an advance on subsequent year's refunds, and most, except all of the money, will be deduct from taxpayers' refunds within 12 months' time.

The IRS website refers to the rebate as an "advance payment", confirming that it's intended to be an rash refund of taxes.

If you're really concerned more or less it, you can always turn around after you receive the rebate and product an estimated payment for 2008
When I get the rebates within 2001 and 2003 I had to discount it from my refund amount. That will probably be alike for the 2008 taxes.
Nothing is ever free especially money.
I have also read that this will be applied towards the 2009 charge refund. It sounds approaching they are giving us extra money now, solitary to make you verbs about paying it support next year (when you hold forgotten about it).

I've be told that I pay my taxes properly. When it comes time to record, I am almost exactly at a break even point...either I owe a terrifically small amount or the government owes me a amazingly small amount. This means that I am paying simply about the right amount of taxes throughout the year. Most ethnic group who look forward to getting their large toll refunds (I talk to two people yesterday who be getting between $5000 and $9000 back) don't realize that all they are doing is giving the affairs of state an interest free loan throughout the year. Why give them that? They indubitably won't give you an interest free loan!

Now, next to this package, I am starting stale the 2008 tax season $1200 within the hole (married couple).

The only piece I can think of doing next to the money is throwing it in a big yield funds account (ING, etc) and try to collect for a while bit of interest on it before I hold to pay it support by 15-Apr-2009.

I don't understand our governing body sometimes...
There are still a lot of details that want to be worked out with Treasury, but the principal answer to the question is "yes and no". :) Yes, technically it may be coming from subsequent year's "refund", but actually it suppose to be coming from an extra bonus amount that is person planned for next year's taxes... base on new 2008 rates cuts. So "NO" it will not be eating away at what you would typically be planning on getting back contained by a refund for subsequent year.

Think of it this way... You generally receive $1000 back as a return check each year. They are planning for levy adjustments subsequent year (possibly eliminating the 10% excise bracket... applying to the first ~$6000-$16,000 made... don't have the exact numbers next to me at this time). So the result is that you will actually be owing smaller amount in taxes for the 2008 year. In the defence of our example, owing less $ contained by taxes would result in you getting put a bet on $1600 in 2009 for the 2008 due year. But since the country needs the money right in a minute, they will be giving you the $600 "bonus amount" today. So in 2009, you will still catch your $1000 refund that you would enjoy expected in the first place. Does that variety sense? The only principle it is not happening for the 2007 import tax year, is because it is too late contained by the tax season to brand the cuts for this year.

Like I said, there are still details that necessitate to be worked out, but that is the overall plan to be exact being developed. Obviously we merely have to loaf and see how it is all played out, but this is in truth "extra" money as it relates to the individual...

I thought the Tax stimulus be to anyone that made?

$75,000 or more? Am I wrong on this?

Answers: Yes, you are wrong.

Under the compromise bill passed by the Congress, you would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much contained by Federal Income Tax. If you only rewarded $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you simply get wager on $350. If you had earn income of at least $3000, you would attain at least the minimum rebate of $300.

While the rebate depends on your 2007 income, it is in actual fact a rebate toward your 2008 taxes. According to the proposed plan, in 2008, taxes would be cut from 10 percent to nil percent on the first $6,000 dollars of taxable income for individual taxpayers.

It's like a one time rates cut for 2008, but you get the rebate immediately instead of waiting to file your 2008 taxes. Because this is an credit payment on your 2008 taxes, your return next year could be more (or smaller amount!) depending on your 2008 income.

Use the calculator below to compute your rebate.
No there are two level
I believe it said $75,000 and less get $600.
and $125.000 and up got $1200. + $300. for respectively child.
Also, the rebates are for taxpayers who FILED surrounded by 2007.

Can I take off money spent for my daughter's preschool tuition?

We pay $100/month for her preschool, can this be deduct? Thanks!

Answers: Yes, if both you and your wife work it is deductible, but if 1 parent does not work it is not. It is considered child care if both parents work. Read more at www.irs.gov and investigate for "preschool". I stay home with our children and they attend preschool so I cannot delare our tuition.
No, not tuition. Only child concern if both parents are working or in full-time university.
