I know someone very close contained by my family and roughly her and her husband are seperated.. her husband do not work but she does. Therefore, she tried to be nice snd filed mutually so that he can have money as economically.. She kept asking him did the check come in all the same but he kept saying no it didnt until she go down to IRS and they told her the check was collected a long time ago.. Her husband lied and have over 5,000 dollars and never said anything to her meanwhile if it wasnt for her he wouldnt receive any money because he is not working.. What can she do.. is within anything she can do at all.. I be aware of bad because its close to she is the one that is working and she didnt return with anything because her husband took all the money. I requirement ideas so that I can sghare them next to her
Answers: I am not sure that there is much that she can do, because they are still legitimately married. But he or someone had to sign her first name to the check. Maybe she can get him on that aspect. If she plans to be divorced, she can ask for partly the refund surrounded by the divorce settlement.
For a joint return, the check is made out to both of them, and the edge isn't supposed to cash it unless both ancestors sign. That doesn't mean it's impossible for a bank clerk to mess up and take it near just one signature.
To be honest, it sounds approaching her problems with him are a great deal bigger than the missing refund check. Good luck to her.

honestly she be nice.. he stole her money because she was stupid.. and nice.. and very soon she needs to bestow up and fight.. realize that he is a jolt and there is no salvage a relationship of lies and stealing..
start keeping track.. starting with the charge forms and facts that he took all the money.. and lied roughly speaking it..
If she filed in concert, then the check would enjoy both names on it. He wouldn't be capable of cash it unless he forged her designation which would be a police matter (forgery and possibly opulent theft). I recommend asking the police about it. IRS s out of it
She can report in small claims court to collect her share
