Should I be charging respectively of my Cali customers podium on county they reside? or can I charge a flat 8.25%?
Hi everyone,I have a sound out, my business is based contained by California, and california has give or take a few 60 counties which charges different sales import tax.
Should I be charging each of my california customers underpinning on where they reside? or can I charge a flat California huge sales rates of 8.25%?
Thanks for any input! and if there can be a intertwine to site that will help closely! Thanks!
Answers:
No it will be considered overcharging your customers. If a customer finds out, by comparing your sales charge to another sales charge of the same county, he/she can sue you.
To clarify, California State Tax is 7.25% and later each county / district add their own tax higher than that. San Francisco Bay Area is 1% while Orange County is only .5% which make Orange Country’s total tax rate 7.75% and the San Francisco Bay Area 8.25%. If an item be purchased in Orange County but be shipped from San Francisco only Orange County’s excise rate of 7.75% would apply.

When I be feeling down, I read a series, "Cup of Comfort" I believe by Cathleen Sell. Anyhow, the stories comforted me by giving me hope and inspiration and by letting me know that nearby were culture in worse situations than I be in. I know it's tough but things will capture better for you.
I hope things find better (my motto is when you are at the end of your rope, tie a mat and hang on) Things appear pretty sucky right now - I know. It's that premonition of not being competent to breathe combined with utter subjection. If one cannot fight or flee - one feel stress - as a fundamental emotion. I would honestly speak the best thing you can do is 1) chill. 2) achieve a good night sleep 3) start calling your friends after you've had a correct breakfast, and a nice cup of coffee. $700 may sound approaching a lot of money to you presently - but, there's still time to financially plan around it. (for instance, in Canada - you can run a loan out to contribute to your Retirement savings plan that would nullify you import tax payment - next you can pay that loan stern over the course of the next year or two . . .)
Another curious dose of reality type of warning: you WILL make more money eventually - and respectively year you make more . . . this will overhaul . . .
Just hold on, I don`t know something good will appear. Please don't give up.
I enjoy an income export tax examine.?
I am a public employee (Firefighter) that be injured on the job and be on worker's comp. for 4 months in 2005. My employer (the City) continued to discharge me my regular wage with adjectives taxes taken out. (The City is then reimbursed by worker's comp.) My W-2 shows my full earnings for the year, even though 4 months was on worker's comp. and thus untaxable. My question is how do I database my taxes correctly? I have a reminder from the City with the amount I be paid while on worker's comp. Which forms do I involve? I normally do my own taxes beside the help of a computer program. Should I grasp an accountant for this one? Should I use a commercial tax preparation service? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I am in a minute back to work. Thanks for the concern.Answers:
Hey, Fireguy,
Interesting ask, thanks for holding it instigate for me. I hope you post your results when you resolve this.
I called a friend who is a city councilmember within the San Diego area.
He said to document your problem and submit a request, contained by person, for a corrected W-2 to your payroll department.
He said that contained by his city, El Cajon, that if you do not recieve COMPLETE cooperation, he would welcome your name and help you solve your problem. He is sure your city council will feel matching.
It is possible his concern is rooted in a gaping concern for your overall welfare and well person. But, if not, it is expected his reason that underneath this fact stencil the city paid too much employer taxes!
For example, if your four months be about 12,000, his city salaried about $918 too much!
During the 4 months you did not work, the city does not owe the levy. If you do not correct the situation, they can not recover their overpayment.
I hope this sounds clear from the city council point of scenery.
Of course, without a corrected W-2, a rates professional can determine, as you likely could, the correct amounts of other taxes and withholdings, next to the understanding that your gross pay packet is overstated by the 4 months of Workers Comp.
But, those amounts will all be at variance than what is on your W-2 now. The FICA, and other taxes you already salaried, are overstated on your current W-2.
You can always give the name a professional and ask their opinion since committing them to your return. Obviously, with a corrected W-2, you can smoothly handle your own and recover paying anyone else a fee.
Please permit me know if I can help further. I would similar to to know that you continued to handle your tariff forms and paid the lowest possible levy.
Good Luck.
PS I am a volunteer for my local fire department north of San Vicente, Baja, Mexico. Our 'new' engine is a 1961 model that we are very grateful for the donation from the states. 500 gallons!! Have you ever ridden on the 'hang onto the back' type? LOL You should see us!!

It sounds as if the city is self insured. Workers Compensation across the world would pay you and not the city. If wages be paid by your employer (rather than workers compensation) and it seem they were as you be paid your regular wage smaller number taxes, you could file beside the total as wages.
You are correct that workers compensation benefits are not taxable. However as workers compensation methods vary from state to state it would be best for you to consult a charge preparer. I suggest that you choose someone who is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an enrolled agent (someone the IRS recognize as being qualified to prepare complex duty returns).
Since you're a fire fighter you may want to see if the federation recommends anyone that path you would be sure that they have handle the problem before.
Glad you're final to work protecting us and our property, thanks for doing a remarkably important living!
I have added a interconnect about enrol agents below.

Where can I find companies FEIN number online? (for export tax file purposes)?
Past employer didn't send me my W-2. I enjoy already reported them to the IRS. The IRS won't give out number any. Any databases where I might find this information would be constructive. Looking for company in Washington &/or California.Answers:
Cupid, dear. Your uncle Eric is here to give you the well-mannered news. Who care what their FEIN is? Calm your pretty self. You dont have to report anyone anymore.
Use the numbers from your ultimate paystub for your tax return. You dont own to have the FEIN anyway. The IRS have it and will look it up if they need it. Just database using the information you do have, include a statement that the company refuse to provide a W-2 and wait for your return check.
It goes in need saying that you call and asked the old company for a latest W-2? And they refused right?
You notify anyone bothering you that your Uncle Eric said it would be OK.
Anything else?
Other Answers:
Have you tried calling the company and asking them what it is? That is probably your best bet. I am not sure that it is public info.
If the company is publicly traded, it will be listed on the first page of its 10-K/10-Q file with the SEC. These filings are available on the SEC's website (http://www.sec.gov). Alternatively, look in the company's website and check under "Investor Services" to picture the SEC filings.
Can I hold a 401K and a traditional IRA?
Answers:
Yes, see a tax tutor on your contribution limits however and to see if a Roth may be right for you. Also, if your company offer a match, receive sure you contribute up to the match hold back before contributing to an IRA, otherwise you're departure money on the table. When you leave your company, roll the money into an IRA. Expenses are lower contained by IRA's than 401(k)'s. A lot of people approaching to keep their assets together, but since fees drink a huge portion of your returns, I strongly suggest rolling to an IRA rather than your latest company's plan. Plus, that way you're not constrained to whatever investment offerings are surrounded by the 401(k), you can choose to invest with whomever you'd resembling.
Good luck!

If your spouse is asking you to file in concert, it is probably because it will save him money. I want to deduct the vehicle license tax (VLF) portion of my registration fee, but I do not hold renewal notice. How to find VLF for a bright car contained by California?Answers:
Short of making a trip to your DMV office, in attendance is no way to do it online or by phone.
Bring lunch and a drink. The lines at the DMV can be long.
Another thought is to look at what you remunerated last year on your registration and discount that amount. Might work.
