when will i win my excise repayment?
Answers:
It depends on when and how you filed.
If you mail your return, it typically takes six weeks from when you mail your return to receive your check. But if you e-file, you will get a check contained by 3 weeks after the IRS accepts your return--or 2 weeks if you elected for direct deposit.

That Sounded Lame... If you file untimely in February it's faster than it will be if you folder in April (employers own until jan 31 to get wage and withholding info out so most folks can't file until Feb).
I mail mine on 2/4 with direction to directly deposit my return into my bank side and it was here this morning (2/24). 20 days, not bad.
If you database in April, 6 to 8 weeks is probably a appropriate estimate.
Good luck.

How oodles years can the I.R.S. stir stern and request a Tax return?
Answers:
It used to be 7 years but they are so far above the law immediately that they pretty much do as they please. I personally know of a entity who got audited because they didn't database a return in 1956-in 1995! He didn't directory that year because he had gone pay for to school and be living with his parents and didn't enjoy any income for the year. The IRS didn't care. They made him foot the average of his tax for 1955 and 1957-with penalty. Oh, and this friend is a lawyer too...
Other Answers:

They can shift back as far as 7 yrs, and adjectives your receipts better be somewhere close. They want to see everything. They can audit you for anything .

If it be part of a larger piece of property you would own to figure out the percentage. Consult a CPA if this makes no sense to you.
The above assume it be not property used for a business or a rental.

how can i recount if its worth it to itemize on my taxes?
SINGLE PERSON WITH NO DEPENDENTS MAKE APPRO 40,000 HAVE HOME CAR AND CREDIT DEBT NO MAJOR EXPENSIVES OTHER THAN THAT..NO MEDICAL OVER 300 DOLLARSAnswers:
For most people surrounded by your situation: add up adjectives state taxes paid or withheld during the year, property and material estate taxes paid, interest compensated on a mortgage, charitable contributions. If greater than $5,000, itemize.
Medical expenses are only counted if they exceed 7.5% of your accustomed gross income. If you make $40,000, afterwards only the amount of medical expenses over $3,000 can be included as an itemized supposition.
Car and credit card loan interest do not count towards this.
Do not use the "average itemized deductions" reported by TurboTax and others. If you do not have documentation for your expenses and you are audited, you will be paying penalty and interest.
Business expenses will NOT affect your itemized deductions. They are reported on a separate diary. However, unreimbursed expenses you pay as an member of staff can be included as itemized deductions if they are greater than 2% of your in the swing of things gross income (line 37).
Other Answers:
prob not worth it this year for ya. but i tell ya, if you don't enjoy some kind of home base business you are throwing your money out. start one, anything, and it will then be worth it for you to itemize.
also, if you do it yourself next to turbo tax, they bestow you statistics of how many family are doing it which way, how much are they itemizing, demographics, etc. so you can see where on earth you stand.
your standard deduction for single is 5000 so if you do not enjoy more than 5000 to itemize with than it is not worth it to itemize. you can pilfer your state taxes ( what they take out for state, but if you itemize it will be taxable to you subsequent year) you can take you medical and dental and eye doctor along beside you medical miles ( if you take your milage than seperate them from the first 8 months to the ending 4 months) you can take your medical insurance premiums you can lift your mortgatge interest and points you can take your personal property taxes ( the saloon the truck the boat) and you can take charity and charity miles also seperated into the first 8 months and the closing 4 you can also take unrembersed member of staff expenses. so if all that add up to more than 5000 dollers than it is worth it. if not dont bother itemizing. i do taxes.
can i claim the money spent on college for my child even though i can't claim them as a dependent?
Answers:
Notice 97-60 Lifetime Learning Credit
Taxpayers may be eligible to claim a nonrefundable Lifetime Learning Credit ...which ... may be claimed for the qualified tuition and related expenses of the students in the taxpayer's domestic (i.e., the taxpayer, the taxpayer's spouse, or an eligible dependent)
I'm sorry that credit is not available to you.
Want to educate yourself? Start looking through the toll questions and look for the ones that take place after the fact and after the year have ended long after anything can be done to properly structure the payments to benefit you the most.
Where are the ask asking before the certainty? I haven't found any.....
If you had invested a trifle during the 9 months when most CPAs and other ¨tax professionals¨ are sitting around the organization, they would have be delighted to recount you scads of ways to properly get the funds to your child.
Good Luck.
Other Answers:
Yes, you can. However, you can simply claim the actual tuition paid - not accounts and supplies needed for the courses. The college usually sends a form to the student - I can't remember the name right very soon - just achieve your child to give it to you.
