Answers:
You can file presently, but I'd suggest waiting until you get a corrected w-2 from your employer (talk to HR).
I worked for the IRS closing year, and it takes them roughly 10 months until the computers bring around to checking whether the income/withholding on W-2s provided by employers match up with the returns file.

American living within NZ, income is network base business contained by US so what's the toll situation?
I know that earning up to 80,000US while surrounded by NZ means i do not enjoy to pay any US taxes. However I own a new project. A web business base in the US, I want to save the money in the US and live sour of that in NZ. I assume within is a dual tax agreement so i will not be tax twice. If I am taxed contained by the US how much money can i then bring over to NZ short NZ taxing me? For example can I bring over 50,000NZ a year 80,000NZ? That's if it has already be taxed surrounded by the US.. Thanks!!Answers:
You should consult a tax professional contained by NZ for the specifics. I would assume that if you pay adjectives the taxes due in the US, you shouldn't own to pay anything over within. INCOME tax should be rewarded where you take home the income, which is a business in the states. NZ shouldn't be capable of tough it.

He wrote this and it was kept next to his will. I claimed it as income. Am I wrong? Do I need to explain to irs where on earth the money came from? I own the signed bank paperwork and also My Dad's productive note proverb I could use the money to pay bills and such for the house in the past and after his death. It be only $13,000. People enjoy told me I'm in greatly of trouble because I claimed it as income. That is what my Dad intended it to be. He was paying for my services.Answers:
That is an inheritance, which is not income.
Whether or not he intended it as compensation is irrelevant. If it passed to you when he passed, it is adjectives.
You are not in trouble, however, because if you reported it as income, you overpaid. The IRS is not going to punish you for giving them too much money.
You should, however, profile a 1040X, which is an amended return, to get vertebrae the extra money you paid. This is best not here to a tax professional.
Other Answers:
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Dad. Sounds approaching he was lucky to enjoy you helping him.
You can always amend a tariff return, and you DID declare it as SOMETHING, so don't sweat what other associates are telling you. That person said, you should just name the IRS and ask what the right handling should be (or should have been) - they'll run the call lacking asking for your info, just check www.irs.gov.
It would go below the defined "Other" for tax purposes. Other than net, wages, tips, allowances, charity, and interest. I believe the pharse is "Any other income not reported on this form."
