Can we send completed Tax returns for the previous years next to out attaching check for estimated amount of tax within the hope that IRS would ask for payment and we could request them for reclamation in instalmentsAnswers:
My tariff attorney (which is also a CPA and used to work for the IRS) did my returns from previous years that I did not file on the dot. He told me to send the forms in need any payment. When you do that he told me that the IRS will dispatch 'Demand' letters for the support taxes (within six months of filing)if it turns out that you owe them money after all the penalty are calculated. If its a small amount you can setup something with the IRS. If the total amount is a substantial figure let say thousands, its a fitting idea to permit your CPA (or better yet a toll attorney) handle the communications next to the IRS (i.e. setting up a payment plan or a 'Letter of Comprise'). If its abundantly of money you might owe, let a professional feel it.
