I received a federal pell forfeit for college. I get a 1098-t form. Where on my 1040 do I report this?

Also, can I still claim tuition and fees on line 34?

Answers:
On the put money on of the 1098-t there are explanations of what respectively box means and where on earth on the 1040 the figures should be placed. I've never done my own taxes, but I'm sure that you can still claim your tuition and books, etc. as fees so that you are not tax on your loans/grants as though they are income. Hope that helps!

Other Answers:
The 1098-T is to use contained by figureing the Hope and LifeTime learning credits. For the credits you can singular claim the tuition and fees you paid yourself. Not what the Pell Grant salaried. You figure those on Form 8863 and consequently carry it over to Line 50 on the 1040. YOu cannot bear the credit on Line 34 and the Hope or Lifetime Learning Credit for the same tuition and payment expenses.
