After initial an online shop, who would I payment export tax to?

Question:
After browsing the site of an eCommerce hosting company, I'm left wondering who I would money tax to should I amenable an online shop with them. Though originally from the UK, I currently live within another EU member state. The hosting company is (as far as I can tell) located within the UK. Would opening an online shop be going to that I would have to register it as a business near the Inland Revenue or would it be with the equivalent where on earth I now live - or both?

Thanks contained by advance.

Answers:
The location of the hosting company is irrelevant. It is where on earth you are resident that counts.

One answer mentioned the country of domicile. That is incorrect. Domicile and residence are two separate issues.

You haven't said how long you have lived overseas. You inevitability to be sure that you are no longer considered to be a UK resident, otherwise you'll come under the long arm of HMRC.
You would reimburse tax to whichever country you are registered contained by as that is where on earth the money will end up.
Tax is one and only paid to Tax organization... call them...

It doesn't actually business where the server is located. The money from the trellis site comes to you, and consequently you`ll have to rate tax on it within the country in which you are living.

Thats why race earning seriously of money move to Monaco, as they don't have to payment taxes there!

Capital Gains Tax when Selling Property?

Question:
When selling a property is capital gain tax applicable? If yes, can anyone relief with clarification on what it is and how much?

Answers:
If you acquire the property after 19 September 1985 and the property is not your main residence, after you will most likely be up for wherewithal gains toll.

Your capital gain will be the proceeds you received on public sale less the cost platform of the property. The cost base of the property will typically include the following amounts:

1. Cost of the property
2. Indirect costs of buying the property (stamp duty etc)
3. Costs incurred contained by selling the property (agent's fees etc)
4. Any improvements made to the property

Any depreciation or capital works deduction claimed in respect of the property may dampen your cost base.

If you held the property for more than 12 months, the income gain on the property is halved - to be exact, the capital gain is discounted by 50%.

Depending on when you bought the property, you may also be capable of index the cost base of the property to inflation, however, you cannot see your capital gain if you do this.

The assets gain is then added to adjectives of your other assessable income and taxed at the standard marginal rates (up to 46.5%).

Given the complexities surrounding wealth gains levy, its best to see an accountant.
capital gain will almost always apply, especially if the property go up from the time of purchase to time of sale. the rates are determined by national law where the property is.
such things as how to digit the gain/loss, what expenses are allowed to be used to lower the actual gain, amount of time the property is owned, are all different base on which country you are in.
if you own never done such computations before, achieve an accountant to do it for you. it isn't that expensive, and is usually a deductible expense the following year.

My partner is not working at the moment, I am, how much council due will I have to pay packet?

Answers:
Contact your local council and they will send you a form to complete and distribute back to them, it will help yourself to a couple of weeks to get on the register as they do not update it every daylight, maybe lately once a month. All they need to know is that you are living where on earth you say you are.
You will enjoy to pay the full rate of council charge regardless of whether your partner is working or not. If you were living alone you'd win a 25% discount but this will not apply in your valise unfortunately.
you will singular get on the electoral roll around October when they dispatch a card to your addres asking for a list of residents and this is published around April the following year.
you wont hold to give any details to anyone on what you earn or your previous address surrounded by fact why are you going to neighrbood organization at all it as nil to with them if you hold moved in next to your b/f. the council tax will be adjectives dependant on your circumstances and nobody on this forum can possibly give you a answer in need all the details
what you enjoy to do is tell your boyfriend to write to housing benefit and inform them of a cash in circumstances.(if he rents the property) if he owns his home consequently you only own to tell council due.

you will have to provide them near proof of earnings ie your wageslips and they may ask for your edge statements too to make sure you one and only have the one wage coming surrounded by and also that you dont have any reserves.

they will then assess how much rent your boyfriend have to pay and they will pass by on all this information to council export tax so he wont have to do it twice.

as for the electoral register a form will be sent to your boyfriend surrounded by the next few months so merely wait for this and enjoy your boyfriend put your name on.
The elector form in full up in October, the organization are likely to ask nearly your last address first name date of birth if your are claiming any benefits, earnings and that of your partner,it depends on the nouns that you live in. How much council export tax and the amounts of income of the two of you have

Tax Efficient Profit Split from a Private Limited company?

Question:
I am based surrounded by the United Kingdom.

I am starting a limited company next to an associate.

The associate will be the primary share holder (he'll own around 80%, I'll have 20%), but the profit split will be 50/50 as I'm providing the expertise.

What is the most charge efficient bearing to do this? I'd rather not reward 41%.

Answers:
As your profit split (50/50) is different from your required share split (80/20), you will need to create two different types of share, call A shares and B shares (or whatever identify you choose!).

Your associate would hold the A shares, carrying 50% of the dividends and 80% of the capital rights & voting rights. You would hold the B shares, carrying 50% of the dividends and 20% of the wherewithal rights & voting rights.Profits may then be taken as dividends, surrounded by the proportions intended.

The above requires a change to the company's Articles of Association, and I'd suggest a shareholders agreement too, to spell out your agreement (and avoid misunderstandings later). See a solicitor or accountant to do this.
This depends if you are working full time and how much money you are going to discharge yourself and how you see the company progressing and growing in size.

The most cost potent way of generate income is to take lb5225 as a stipend (cunningly below the threashold for Tax and NI assuming you have a 522L export tax code and are now working else where).

Then to steal dividends to lb39,000 ish (as you pay no extra export tax on dividend (other than corp tax on profits)) upto the complex rate tax bracket.

However as the shares are 80/20 for every lb2 you procure in dividends your mate will carry lb8 - has to be done this method.

The best way (other than forming a 50/50) would be for your mate to 80/20 own the company next to you and you form a seperate company which you "contract" yourself in through allowing you to clutch full dividends from it.

What type of Job is Better?

Question:
I have be offered a job beside the IRS - Federal and I'm sure I'll be offered a job near the State of Texas. Which is better - Federal or State Employment ? and Why?

Thanks for the help***~

Answers:
It depends on whether you are being offered a Seasonal or Permanent position. A seasonal IRS member of staff can be laid off up to 6 months of the year, working lone during the tax file season. A permanent IRS member of staff will be working all year round. a Federal member of staff earns 4 hours of sick and 4 hours of annual confer on per pay interval -every 2 week pay)
You also want to consider which position is offering the most per hour, both State and Federal positions have apt benefits, though the State for health benefits pays 80% of the premiums, Federal individual pays 72% of the premiums. Both have polite retirement plans that you contibute to.
And both have great opportunties for advancement.

Weigh out which would be more beneficial to you consequently decide
Federal...better benefits.
Federal IRS , absolutely ! You can cheat on your taxes , and be the person to check your excise return at work .

It just doesn`t GET any better than that .......

I hear a couple of people at work who do alike say that they win a rebate each year because they use their vehicle for business use. What are they talking almost? I understand that I may know how to claim some money back from the taxman but how and when i don't know. Any minister to would be great!
I don't pay any contributions to private mileage as i deliberate i am taxed already. I have to declare private mileage surrounded by april and was told that it be for tax reason. i haven't been keeping a material record any.

Answers:
If you are being reimbursed for the mileage, afterwards you can not claim anything on your tax return.

You can simply claim UNREIMBURSED business expenses.
Your question is sort of confusing. First you are remunerated in lieu of have a company car so that money is tax. The fuel card you didn't say if it be your card or the company. If you are using a car for unreimbursed company milage you can discount this on your tax return within the area of business deduction.
it for the miles you use on your car ask the being that dose your taxes. Do keep a journal date and were you go and distance.

check the email of the sender
the address
and the content
and if it suspicious...
don't believe it.

!spam!
Big scam!
I antipathy to say this but you enjoy been have. Did they ask for money or
anything like that to collect your "prize". That's one of the first indicators
that it is a scam. Microsoft does not hold lotteries of any benevolent. Delete!
Delete! Delete! Also, if your computer has the fitness, block them.
Sorry, no, Microsoft doesn't have a lottery. The email you get is a scam. If you respond, they'll tell you that you enjoy to send them a assignment or courier fee to draw from your prize. Then if you send it, guess what - you won't hear from them and won't achieve your "prize".

Just delete it - you didn't win anything. Pretty much everyone with an email address get these regularly.

I claimed exempt on taxes. Now i received a memo something like 3 years of not file? SCARED STIFF!?

Question:
I received a letter a couple days ago from the gov nearly 3 years of unfiled taxes. I've never made over 5000 a year from part time job. I've always be a full time student and my parents still claim me on their taxes. What should be my next step

Answers:
First of adjectives, CALM DOWN! You very possibly don't owe anything, and might even hold a refund coming if you have any taxes withheld.

If you never made over $5000 a year, you might not even owe anything depending on how the money was made. If it be all as an member of staff with a W-2 issued at the cease of the year, you're probably OK.

Did the letter own numbers on it as to what they think you owe, or why they regard as you should have file? The letter should own told you what to do from here. The letter should enjoy a phone number on it - you could call them and ask what wants to be done to clear this, since you don't think you be required to file for those years.

I'm assuming that this memo came from the IRS. If it be from your state, it's possible that you do owe something - state laws are adjectives different, and some require you to file even if you don't owe.

Good luck, and discern free to email me if you don't get this resolved efficiently.

By the way, some of the answers above are incorrect.
Since you have income, you have to record even if you end up owing no import tax. That's the law. You better receive the last three years file or they will drive you crazy.
Contact the IRS and get adjectives of your paperwork together. You may want to contact an accountant to help you brand sure that you have everything contained by order. Don't keep on on this take prudence of it as soon as possible. You don't want to piss off the levy man.
You will be fine. It has be years ago, but I was within a similar situation. On the letter, they told you what you would obligation to do. You may need to prove the amount you made during the 3 years, and you may obligation to be able to dispute a document.

You said you be a student. With certain federal fundings, you are required to folder taxes even if you are exempt. Did you pay taxes on the money you earn (the $5k)? If so, you may be due a refund.

Do not be alarmed. You will be fine. Just follow the steps outlined in the message.
You can just jump ahead and file former times 3 years of tax returns--that's what I would do. You will probably not even owe any taxes or penalty since you are most likely due a compensation for those years anyway.

You can download the forms from the IRS website for the past 3 years and only just mail them contained by. My older children other filled out a 1040EZ when they be in university and had unpaid jobs. They other got refund too of anything paid out within taxes. If you claimed exempt it's very feasible that you will break even and not owe the gov't anything---they just obligation to see the returns though so don't panic or verbs about anything! I meditate you will be fine.
.
next step is spread out and file those second 3 years of tax returns. At the lowest you'll find out if you owe the irs anything.
My brother didn't file for a time of year of time and when he finally did he got $2500.00. If you owe them you catch penalties and interest added. But if they owe you you'll of late get the money you be due.
Do what the letter said to do. Don't cold-shoulder the letter. Don't merely file the missing returns, unless they communicate you to do that.
Don't be scared stiff. You are not going to reformatory. At worst you may owe some money. At best, you may get a repayment, if tax be witheld.
OK...because your parents claimed you, you were not exempt from paying or file taxes...if you paid no income taxes from you paycheck next you do owe money now. Your parents recieved the benefit from you self a full time student, not you.

In 2007 if you were single and you made between $0 and $7825 consequently you owed 10% of your income to the government surrounded by taxes. I suggest you get your W-2s from your employer/s for the closing 3 years and ask your parents to get you an accountant (you are going to call for to file ammended returns for the final 3 years...that can be kind of complicated).

If you are working right in a minute PLEASE go into work today and riddle out a new W4 and claim S-0. Since you cannot claim yourself on your taxes you entail income taxes taken out of your income!
You can't claim exempt on your taxes. You can claim exempt when filling out your W-4, but that with the sole purpose effects your withholding. In most cases when your parents claim you on their taxes, they are simply taking your $3,300 (2006) exemption. This doesn't prevent you from having to wallet. If you've had withholding you should probably wallet anyway to get a discount. However, for 2006, you only enjoy a filing requirement if you enjoy over $5,150 of earned income. Being a student doesn't really business unless you have rewarded tuition or interest on student loans. Sorry.

Is an employer allowed to discount days from your gross if you are out sick?

Question:
I was out for 4 days one week this recompense period and my employer is deduct those days from my salary. They said it is because I did not own enough time on my duty but we do not have sick benefits here so I am not sure what that be about. Is that even official if I am on a salary??

Answers:
Yes it's permissible - you didn't work those days, so unless you have sick days available to you, you aren't going to attain paid for them.

And don't be too hearted by Heather's answer above - she's totally past its sell-by date base.
It is allowed since they are not paying you to be sick.
if you are salary next no it is not legal for them to do this
YES.
If you are not salaried for sick time as specified by your employer, yes you can get docked for self out sick.
um... why do you expect to get remunerated for what you didn't work. They can do this read your handbook.
that is to say the whole point of individual paid earnings! contact a lawyer and see what you can do going on for it and if they fire you over it you'll be rich!!
certain states allow deduction from salaries up to a indubitable salary catalogue... good word though.. certain states also allow overtime money to salaried employees up to a faultless salary scope. This is not known to several people. I for one work at a place years lacking knowing that they should have be paying me overtime. When we finally switched divisions this was pointed out. Salaried ethnic group who made over a certain amount be exempt, but us peons was supposed to be payed overtime, regrettably we were also supposed to be deduct for time missed if we didn't have vacation/sick donate to cover it.
It's unusual but not illegal.
Ask for a guide or for your boss to show you in the manual the section that details the pay agreement.
It's quite possible you own to put in so much time up to that time you are eligible for the paid time stale. Each company has some flexibility to choose their own policies. Just fashion sure your boss is following policy & not singling you out.
How long have you be on your job? It sounds similar to you just started beforehand your sick days kicked in. Go wager on and look at your employee tourist information and double check when your benefits start.

It really depends on the employer, some benefits start immediately and others don't start off until after your probationary period (30 - 90 days).
Ok,,,I know roughly speaking this!
Take a look at your employee visitors` guide first...
Does it stay that you need to be absolute amount of day contained by the payroll before you can collect SICK DAYS?
subsequent...if you are in Salary...designation..You get remunerated the same everyweek, They can reduce by days off base on 40 hours a week.
As an executive...it is normal to mount up sickday at a rate of 1.5 day per month...But check your member of staff handbook or your H.R. representative..Now..if you company is of late owned by a single owner, they can make any rule they want.but It must be explain to you within writting when you took that job. Check your application, and any other broadsheet you sign on your new hire box...
If you took the job and did not sign anything approaching that.you are S.O.L because you took it as is.
I am on salary surrounded by my job, but if I work smaller number than 40 hours in a week, I any have to use personal time, time off time or make it up the following week. Your chore may be similar then. And, yes, it is legitimate.
You don't have sick benefits? Doesn't that answer your own ask?

Look, good rule of thumb to follow throughout life-- an employer can roughly do anything they want if you're willing to stand for it and if he doesn't want you nearby, he'll get rid of you come what may. Don't waste your time and vim wondering how to get around that and what's "legal" and "not legal". Just be as self-sufficient as you can and do what you hold to be able to describe a boss to go screw himself if you know you're getting a unpromising deal.

Has anyone else spent the end week trying to get hold of through to Tax Credits helpline?

Question:
I have have to phone through to tax credits helpline to renew our claim and inform of a correct in income. Last darkness, I was on the phone for 2 hours constantly redialling one and only to get the unavailable tone or to get through to the subsequent menu and then return with the engaged tone. OR worse still, gain through both menus only to be told that the helpline is enormously busy "Please try later". No option to hold, they a moment ago hang up. I be tempted not to bother but will later have a disagreeable letter aphorism I owe them money. So, this morning, I tried for another hour and a half. Eventually get through this afternoon. I knew that it would be busy but surely, we should enjoy the option to hold, even if it take half an hour it's better than getting cut sour.

Before anyone starts judging me, at the moment I claim approx lb39 per month Child Tax Credit and this will decrease to about lb16 per month at renewal. I am not a sponger from the system, my husband and I both work complicated and pay over lb1000 export tax between us each month

Answers:
Firstly, your not a sponger, Tax Credits are money that is to say yours, you work for it and deserve every penny you get.

I work surrounded by a housing/council tax benefit slice for a local councl and we sometimes have to ring them to clarify claimants details. We hold a special dedicated number which is in general answered straight away, even this has taken longer than majority during the last few days. I would love to offer the number out but as you will appreciate I am not allowed to.

I know its not nice holding for ages or be told to ring back but anyone reading this, remember one entry, it is your money and your entitled to it so keep at it.

One other basis for the delay surrounded by getting through could be that it is the deadline for reapplying on 31 July 2007 so a lot of empire will be ringing to renew their claims
you should try to get through to charge centre plus regional go before quarters at Canterbury took me 2 weeks
You be infront of me in the q, I come up with their computers went down the phone row was close to that for hours yesterday - And there's nothing wrong next to claiming what you're entitled too. well done

Income that you make overseas is predictable to be reported as self employment income and you would pay that toll when you file your return at the stop of the year. You may be able to exclude a portion of your income if you hold been outside the US for 330 days within a 12 month period and the money be earned and/or received surrounded by that period. The excludable amount for 2006 be $82,500 but I have not see the amount for 2007. These issues are frequently complex. You should seek the push for of a tax professional.
record your taxes online and answer the questions truthfully. I would not verbs too much about taxes, they are going away soon!

What other benefits can you claim when you are on Child Tax Credit?

Question:
We currently claim Child Tax Credit but do not qualify for Working Tax Credit because we both work full time. Some friends have said that you can achieve free milk and dentist etc when you are Child Tax Credit. Does anyone know if this is true and where you can find out details going on for what can be claimed and how? Thanks

Answers:
You are sent an NHS excemtion card when you apply ofr ctc/wtc and you are on a low wage.I was sent one in the past my partner moved in as we immediately have a greater income we are no longer eligable. If you were entitled to free dentist etc they would hold automatically sent you one . So besides child benefit sorry no
Why should you be able to claim benefits if you are both working? Isn't the point of benefits for empire who don't or can't work?
I am not condoning people that don't work by the approach, I think the benefit system is a complete farce
you can claim milk allowances if you are on income support , free dentist applies to children up till 18 and you can attain a tax exemption card up till the child is one after you enjoy given birth it explains the benefits you are entitled to in the support of the pregnancy book from the nhs and also in the birth - five book too , I don't reason you'd be entitled to income support as you both work you could maybe capture help beside childcare costs but only if it's an approved childminder i give attention to you can get direction for that on the inland revenue website
the only other allowance you can claim is child benefit if you are not already getting it
