what do you meditate will come about when the cost of ciggarrettes eclipse that of pot?

Question:i think this excise is getting way out of mitt, its almost a form of extortion by the feds and state.

Answers:
People will pay it, because unlike pot, ciggarrettes are still tremendously much legal. Tax is a mode to discourage such things. Like in Briton they enjoy a crazy tax on gas that discourages driving your car/truck or doesn`t matter what. Hmm, though I guess that doesn't really fall underneath "taxation without representation".

Yes...extortion...for an addictive, health-killing, noxious-fume-creating substance.

Question:I understand the federal tariff is approximately 25%, the NY state tax is around 7%, FICA is around 7%.

So, does that suggest the tax rate within NY is around 40%?
If it is true is that not high?

Answers:
You're pretty much on the blemish. If your federal tax rate is 25% and you receive between $20,001 and $100,000 your NY state tax rate is 6.85% (as of fall of year 2004). Add in 2005 FICA at 7.65% and your total charge is about 39.5%.

Since federal income duty and FICA taxes are the same general, your total tax is almost the same everywhere. There will solely be a few points difference depending on your state. Hey! Just be glad you're not in California. We seize state tax at 9.3% on income better than $40,346!

TAXES: If I hold a small home business, what are my due advantages?

Question:I don't generate much income at all (yet!) but would really close to to pump up the volume on my business. (it's a wholesale business. I'll be looking at fundraisers this year to try and generate a clientele).

Please, I'm serious. If you don't know, don't answer.

Answers:
If health insurance is an issue (ie, you hold to provide your own for yourself), strongly consider getting a C-corporation. If not, consider an S-Corporation. There are SO many advantages of a small business. You can discount your business computer, business cell phone, related auto expenses, health trouble expenses, etc. It's an incredible effective tool for growing luxury. I strongly recommend against being a sole properitor (sp) business. You'll grasp eaten alive next to taxes -- if you make any income). A C-corp also let you carry your losses forward, which is great when you may hold a lot of expenses and not a ton of income (now), but when you variety money (later), you'll have that loss pass forward which will wash out income, and clean out taxes.

Email me with any question, Good luck!
