"You did not qualify for the Stimulus contribution because you be claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer"

I used the the "Where is my stimulus payment" and got this as a response.
"You did not qualify for the Stimulus clearing because you were claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer"

When I enter the info beside EITHER ONE of our SS#'s that is what comes up (his is first on the levy form of course).

My husband and I file in concert, but I have to wallet an "Injured Spouse" form as well because of him anyone unemployed for a moment, he owed some back child support. We received our Federal Tax Return next to my share, so we know the IRS received this form.

Would it say this because of him owing stern support? No one would claim his as a dependent (he is 38 and we have be married for 15 years...) I guess I do not understand. Any help out or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

My sister Mary is a single mom next to two children who works at Montgomery's n earn $20,000 per year surrounded by earnings.

Answers:   IF you are willing to sit on the phone row and talk to the IRS, they can set you straight.

I bring this up because I threw my check away and i be able to bring a replacement (well, in the process of anyone replaced). they could advise as to why you don't "count".

When will I capture my NC state charge return arrive?

You could name the IRS and ask... but I would think that SOMEONE get your $600. If it wasn't you, and you and your husband filed as one, then I would ask if it be him. If so, then he should afterwards owe you the portion of the stimulus payment for you ($600), plus doesn`t matter what percentage of the kids you guys have worked out. If the money is anyone applied to back child support, that portion shouldn't be, but surrounded by reality, he will probably freshly have to any owe it to you, or continue to owe you that amount within child support.

It almost sounds like you'd hold to have your attorney work it out, which is a shame because that could cost as much as the stimulus check. :-P

Medical reimbursements - TDS Exemption?

Call the IRS. The statement, "You did not qualify for the Stimulus payment because you be claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer" contains an obvious mistake. The interview is not if your WERE claimed as a dependent, but rather if you COULD BE claimed.

Most expected, someone used your SSN or that of your husband as their dependent's SSN. Given the variety of possible mistakes (transposition of two numbers, reading a 3 as an 8, etc.) it happen all the time. Call 8OO-829-1040 and verbalize to a person. He or she should be capable of discover the problem and resolve it.

How long do I own to continue for my Child duty benefits to see spinal column within??

If someone else (legally) claims you as a dependent on their tax return - they achieve the $300 stimulus package and you go and get nothing.

The statement that you are reading may simply be a misinterpretation. If you be entered as a spouse on your husband's duty return - then the IRS simply interprets you as "person your husband's dependent". They usually have individual 1 file for respectively return - so if his name be on top, he's the "primary filer".

The only problem is - you said that happen on BOTH social security numbers? That's a problem. You might want to telephone call the IRS help dash (listed below) and talk to a personage.

It is entirely possible that they seized your stimulus payments due to your husband's child support liability. Since the stimulus package is a foreign thing (brand topical this year) - they may just not own the proper programming to display what happened.

Remember, injured spouse filings may not work if you folder from a community property state - (there are 9 - mostly along the southwest border of the U.S. and also Wisconsin.) In those states, finances are equal between partners, and the IRS may reject an injured spouse file in those states.
