(UK) Is income from a holiday home tax as investment income or earn income?

Also am i able to thwart the interest i am charged on the loan or/and ground rental charges against the income that i earn from the holiday home, if i am and the figure reduce the income to a loss am i able to get the loss over in my toll return. Finally am i able to claim import tax relief at 40p per mile contained by order to travel and service the holiday home?

Answers:   To add to the above answer, near are special rules relating to holiday lets - the property have to be available for letting for a minimum number of weeks a year in command to qualify for full relief on interest payments and ground rent, etc. Age have made me forget what the weeks are, but the HMRC website will tell you.
Travel to the property to verbs between lets, etc is allowable, provided this be the only root you went at hand, ie if you also went here to stay for a holiday yourself, this mileage is not allowable.
